24/0 to 18/6

My mothers were always on 24/0 but now im switching them to 18/6 but during the dark 6 hours its not COMPLETLY dark. Is this ok? I know during flower this will cause problems but is this ok for VEG?
 
No, it won't be a problem. I usually just use 24/0 in veg but I'm thinking of switching to 18/6 to save power. There will still be light in the room where I veg but that doesn't concern me.
 
I have tried both and the 18/6 schedule seems to give better results except for fresh cut clones which seem to prefer the 24/0 schedule until roots develop. The energy savings is not that much of an issue in veg unless you are using MH or HPS for veg. I use all flouro tubes and they are cheap to run.
 
Yeah, it's also so the neighbours won't notice the lights on constantly. I want to continue to veg seedlings in a spare bedroom without going to a lot of trouble setting it up.
