I have three 23watt Soft white Cfls. I just put my germinated seeds In a cup of Soil I did a mix of MG ORganic and Some dollar store potting soil. Are these ok for my babys? ALso when should i start adding nurts? thanks

well your plants will stretch with the soft whites there spectrum is 2700k you want 6500ks for vegatative growth. they will say daylight i got 4 23's at lowes for $10 use these they will work for about 2 plants 3 if you push it. go back to the soft whites for flower also you will want more wattage for flower at target they have 42 watts for $7 or so 4-6 of those will give you good results for a few plants
sorry for making you spend but you will still be able to use those down the line

no they will come in handy when you flower
2700k - soft white -flower
6500k - daylight - veg ( and seedling)

there are 2 types of growth vegatative and flowering
veg is the second part of the plants life (after seedling) when it uses lots of nitrogen and grows leaves use ferilizers with a high first number and low 2nd and 3rd like 20-5-5 lights should be on for 18 hours off for 6 or just on all the time
flowering is the second part of growth the plant buds. this is the exciting part. use ferilizers with a high 2nd and 3rd number and low 1st like 5-20-20 lights should be on for 12 hours off for 12.
long story short with cfls you want 2 types of bulbs warm white like you have and daylight like you need now

WHat Watt Should I Get. I am using This Organic MG and half dollar store soil. ? ANd how many i planted 5 Germ Seeds :( how many is good amount to start with and how many lights would i need?

yeahh.. i'm going through the same thing zer0kool. i need to buy clamp lights and CFL's but i don't know what kind of CFL's i should buy..

@ Home de-pot there are 27W CFL equaling an incandescent 100W of lumen
believe i paid under $15 for 4. yes they are daylight 6500K

for the clamps try using a cheap bath bar with m,multiple light fixtures and if you want you can "y" the socket and plug 2 CFLs into one socket.(caution, never exceed the maximum watts)

Ok so a 23-27Watt Bulb 5000-6500 kelvin are good for Vegging And a
@23-27 Watt Bulb with 2700-3000 kelvin for flowing?

FantastiC NIce.. Got any Links To Wiring multiple lights i think i going to use 8. I have 5 germinated seeds in soil right now. Bout how many plants should i start going I am using one of those rubbermaid Totes. Btw i am using Mid Grade Seeds any difference in growing?

okay well in a rubbermaid you will want to remember hieght is of the upmost importance. i would us 2 wired sockets with y spliters theyre at any hardware store they turn one socket into two

Nice i Understand it. U got any guides to wiring this setup and i cant find those Y adapters for anything :( I have the lights facing downwards now BUt i like ur Guide. I am such a noob learning day by day. ANy wiring tips tricks?

wow... 23w Cfl bulbs will work for your Veg stage i think they are 6500K
and 42w Cfl bulbs will work for your Flowering stage they are 2700K

yea my problem with the lights facing down is you lose some lights.
the y adapters are at almost any hardware store theyre just hard to find
i mean just strip the wires and hook them up to the screws on the socket i like to curl the wires before i screw it in. you can do it without sockets but its a little dificult and not as safe. so just go to lowes or a hardware store
heres a supply list
6 sockets i like these small ones

2 y socket adapters

6 wires (if you find any cords like this that you dont use cutt em strip em and use em i use old extention cords with broken sockets)

right:) to really dial down to an exact number kelvin is from what i heard impossible because the plants have a variety of different genetics allowing some plants to utilize 6500K most effectively and others at 6000K . those ranges are acceptable, comes down to personal opinion and what works best for your set up/preferences :bigjoint:

Ok just came from walmart got 4 26watt 6500 Daylights. Just trying to get my rubbermaid grow box working. I just have vent hole on the side and 2 at the top where i pass my lights through. I want to make a nice box that can hold 1-3 plants got 5 germ seeds in soil right now dont really think i will have that much space... I am just lookin for a guide to set up my lights.. i want to use kid cannibis drawing.. But having a hard time actually doing it. Also my temp in box is 88 :( would this hurt my germ seeds. I going to get a fan wanna c how i should vent my system

i had a rubbermaid with 5 in it... flower early remember youll only keep half......
just veg for 2-3 weeks then flower keep them small
i used old 1 gal milk jugs cut in half for my rubbermaid i even used i cant believe its not butter tubs.
