Sooo i dont believe in a higher power, lets just get that out lol

This whole 2012 thing the medias been blowing up looks really dumb lol

But, I was thinking today after i watched "the universe" today. It was the 1 where they talked about the 2012 stuff idk if ne1 saw it.

Neways the guy talking was saying how the Earth completes this full cycle thing every 16,000 years, or so lol, cuz i dont think its that specific. ok so i also see humans as a growth. And im shure the earth does too. If you look at the earth as a living thing (which it is) you wud think it has a way of regulating itself, well this is what the scientist was saying.

The earth "flushes" itself every 16,000 years, they also did a segment about how they can see this occuring in the layers of the earth. They pointed out black thin lines in these caves, and they were seperated an equall distance from eachother (16,000 years) He pointed out this is the layer left behind from the earth "flushing" itself.

And it occured to me, that it might not be so far fetched. Think of a womans vagina (put the lotion down lol) it regulates itself every month. You get where im going?

I think its quite easy to understand. The earth does not want us dominating it, who wud want a bunch of ants making colonies all over them nd using all of ur resouces.

Just sumthing to talk about...Peace!

We could talk for days bout this. This is exactly why we need to live like it was our last day :hump:

You could call the earth living, but it does not meet the classic definition or something living, homeostasis.

What I mean is the earth does not care if it lives or dies. It is not out to get us and will take all of our abuse because it has no will of its own.

The 2012 nonsense is nonsense. It is highly unlikely the earth will end that day, because it is of no more significance than any other day. A few planets will align, just like they do yearly.

There are real dangers that we could not defend ourselves against and would not see coming. A meteor could fly in, obliterate us (Not like in the movies, think of something colossal moving 5, 6, 7+ times the speed of sound. You wouldn't see it and you would be dead less than a second after you saw the atmosphere disintegrate) without us seeing it because we can not watch the entire nights sky.

An extra strength solar flare could fry almost all of the electronics on earth. An extra strength solar burst would move at nearly the speed of light and completely devastate the planet and likely kill everyone. We wouldn't see it coming.

There are real dangers we are putting ourselves in, such as turning our oceans into low ph carbonic acid because of global climate change spurred on by us.

This 2012 thing is almost as bad as the Y2k thing. At least there was a real (small) problem with Y2k, some computers not rolling dates over correctly.

Yah but how can you say its not living? i kno it doesnt fall under the catagory but i mean it can host human life, grow plants, go thru weather changes. idk it just seems pretty alive to me.
But yah ur definatly rite, theres no way it wud end exactly at 12am december w.e it is lol

Meteor crashing into earth is a huge possibility. Cud happen any moment nd no1 wud know.

We believe the science behind those believing the great dyings are real.

We believe many flavors of non-god celestial phenomena cause these.

What we don't understand is how the cave painters made their star maps so precise without making the walls invisible.

Is a plant living?

:peace:

I guess we should reformulate or retain a sole definition for living. Woodstock your right. So a plant represents a living conglomerate of organic substances. A planet is, essentially, a rock that has an outerlayer, be it of solid mass, liquid, or gaseous, we have all three, but not only those things would constitute a living planet. So I don't think that this planet could be represented as living, seeing as it can't reproduce, it doesn't change under freewill or natural patterning, and it cannot perceive. Even plants have mechanisms that they know when plants near them are dying or when they are being deprived of water, be these physical traits or molecular, they do encourage or help sustain the being. The planet has outer help, the sun, and asteroids but the core being of the planet did not create defense mechanics as the plants and animals did during the evolutionary process.

Peace

"seeing as it can't reproduce, it doesn't change under freewill or natural patterning, and it cannot perceive"

I propose to you the oldest living thing on Earth is alive.
