2012 modified Super Soil and results

Back in February 2012, Subcool posted a video on youtube.com (link below) with a modified supersoil recipe adding in oyster shells, kelp meal (1-0.1-2), crab meal (3-4-0), and additional azomite (granular, 0-0-0.2) all at two cups per amendment for a full batch of supersoil. He also added two bags of Bio Bizz Coco-Mix. He stated in the video that these additional ingredients were added to the supersoil mix mostly because Roots Organic potting soil was running too "hot." My question is, does anyone know if Subcool had better results with this modified recipe, and now endorses it over the posted 2010 recipe? Also, has anyone heard if maybe Roots Organic soil is no longer running "hot", therefore the added ingredients as stated above is longer necessary? Thanks!

Here is the youtube link, Weed Nerd episode 36: The modified supersoil instructions begins at 11:38

Yes, it seems like the 2010 recipe works really well but was curious as to what the results are with the modified 2012 version. I haven't seen or read anywhere what Sub's final analysis was...

He never did say how the modified version turned out on the Weed Nerd, unless if I missed it. That was right about the time he started using the bagged Super Soil though, which does contain oyster shells and added kelp.

The video can't be shown for some reason. How much of what new amendments are to be added?
I thought it was 2 cups of kelp meal oyster shell azomite and crab meal correct me if I'm wring tho plz.

What is the reason Subcool doesn't post any longer? As far as his soil recipe goes I have always changed it a little by adding more "vegan additives". Kelp and composted kitchen and yard waste processed by worms for the winter months are awesome. I feed once a week in flower with a Worm compost tea activated with BS Molasses. Been using the same 400 gallons of soil for 3 years in grow/compost rotation. Almost anyone who has tried my CHEM 91 says it is the best tasting pot ever. I like Bubba getting all super dank and purple, personally. Here she is at 20 days of flower2014-01-01 15.14.31.jpg

Hmmmm not sure I know what you mean.

I think sub was using these extra amendments becuase he was using bio bizz light as his base.
I think he's referring to the book, True Living Organics (TLO) written by the Rev.
In the youtube video he mentioned he added those amendments because Roots Organic was running "hot." In that same clip he was using both Roots Organic and Bio Bizz Light. Hope that helps.

I use the old recipe, with great success. My last Madman OG flowers came out so smooth, so pungent, and so potent, everyone wants some, and I mean every person I have smoked with, but...I only grow for personal medicine. I share with those around me and my medicine goes fast. I do get guests a bit more frequently now LOL!

Life is very good when you can grow better medicine than what you can buy in 99% of the dispensaries. Much love to subcool, and Vic before him, as well as many, many hundreds of others who have shared their knowledge. It was my dream growing up to grow the best smoke, and all of you my brothers and sisters who have shared, posted, given feedback, have been a part of that. If we can let go of the hate, even those we dislike, can teach us....
