Hey guys, This will be my 2nd attempt at a grow. I used to grow about 4 years ago but am just getting back into it. I started one about 2 months ago, but long story short i had to get rid of everything and start over.

So, I am using a DIY 200ws COB that I made a couple nights ago.
-4 citi 3000k 1212 gen 6 running at 50w each
-MW HLG H185 C1400B running at 1400mA
-130mm heatsinks(passive)

This go, I am growing 4 autoflowers. They will be 2 Royal Queens auto Northern Lights, 1 Fastbuds Auto Girl Scout cookies, and 1 Sweet seeds Dark Devil. They are all in 5 gallon Coco Hempy buckets. They will be heavily LST'd.

For nutes I will be using the Lucas Formula with 7 grams of maxibloom every watering. I will add Cal-Mag as needed. When they start to flower, I will be adding Fox Farms Open Sesame, Beasty Bloomz, and Cha-Ching. Ph will be around 5.8-6.2.

They are all 2 days above the ground except for the DD, This is her first day up. Temps are around 75F and 53% humidity. I will be getting either a 2x4 or 3x3 tent within the next couple of weeks, but for now theyre just hanging out in my closet.

Feel free to comment, any tips would be welcomed.

So i just got into leds and yesterday learned about COBs. Do they run less hot then mars hydro or galaxyhydro led lights? Its hard to beat 75 bucks for a light that costs 25 bucks for growing autos till harvest.

Also, im just starting with hempy buckets. I want to use 2 (u got 5), would it be possible to stick a hose from the first into the second and have the excess water go into the second one. then collect the runoff from an exit on the second bucket? For you the exit would be the 5th bucket. I figure maybe it would be easier to collect one runoff instead of 2 (5 in ur case)

Let me know your thoughts and some info on COBs when you can!

With cobs they run more efficiently, so a 200w mars will put off the same heat as a 200w cob, but you get more light from the cob. And not too sure about the hempy design, never really tried anything other than plain ol hempy buckets haha

Day 11
I got the new tent in, have both cob fixtures in there running at about 75f. One of the northern lights was a no go, so I started a green crack from fastbuds. The others seem to be healthy, although the NL has been yellow since it’s been above ground. I’m giving them half strength nutes with no probs.

Day 27
They're starting to stretch and flower
They all started getting 1 tsp of FF open sesame along with their normal nutes. Thinking about trying different training methods on each of them. Here they are at day 27, they're getting the full power of the cob fixtures now and it looks like they're loving it.

Day 30
The NL has little buds starting to form and slowing down in vertical growth. GSC and DD are still in their stretch and only putting out pistils still, no buds yet. Theyre all getting 8ml of micro, 16ml of bloom, 10ml of CalMag, and 1/2 tsp of Open Sesame at 5.8
They have pretty much filled the entire 3x3 already, and the cobs are killing it, im thinking about switching out the smaller fixture for a quantum board i have laying around. Theyre both only 150w, but the qb is 3000k and the smaller cob kit is 4000k.

Day 33
I was wrong about the NL being done stretching lol, its still growing pretty quickly, had to lift the lights up again. Currently running about 350w of cob lighting and so far it is doing awesome . The gsc and DD are bushing out still, still throwing pistils but no buds yet.

NL getting Lucas formula, 2 tsp of calmag , 1/2 tsp of beasty bloomz.

DD and GSC both getting Lucas , 2 tsp calmag , 1/2 tsp of open sesame.

Looking swell! I'm thinking of moving from HPS to COB but the ones I'm seeing for sale are still blurple because the claim full spectrum how come you're using 3000k, is that just for veg?

Aside from cost is there any benefits to DIY cob?

Thank you, I'm using a mix of 200w 3000k and 150w 4000k, I figure that should be good for a full growth cycle. I did diy cause of cost and the option to upgrade further down the line if I wanted too.

Just wondering, any nute burn, discoloration or bad growth? Only reason i ask is 8/16 is Lucas for soil and Coco uses a modified version of 6 micro and 9 bloom. This is H3ads modified version made for coco. He uses epsom salt rater than cal/mag, but i still like cal/mag with coco. Also why seitch from Maxi to Micro/Bloom? Good looking and hope they keep groing well.

Tiny bit of burn on the DD only, but I lowered the amount of open sesame I was giving her and everything looks great now, no bad growth. I switched from maxibloom to micro/bloom just for ease, was tired of trying to get all of the salts to dissolve and what not. Just me being lazy.

Day 37 of NL, all of the main tops look about like this, there are about 8-10 of them. I was also able to crank another 100w out of my lights, total is 450w now. Temps are about 81f while lights are on full power.

Day 39, the gsc and dd finally started to bud. The tent is completely full now, with very little room to spare. Each girl is drinking about a gallon a day, all still getting Lucas formula with their fox farm boosters and cal mag at 5.8-6.0. NL getting really frosty and every single bud site on her has turned a dark purple/black color. Here are some pics.

So how much did that setup cost you and how tall is the tent
