2 Weeks Veg Period Potential

Wondering Star

Do you think it is possible to pull an ounce of dry bud from a plant which has been vegged under a 125 Watt CFL for 2 weeks, and then placed under a decent sized HPS light for flowering?

I think an oz should be minimum in such circumstances, barring human error, no? :leaf:

I don't think what light you ran in veg has a real material affect on harvest. What will drive this would be strain type, plant size, light intensity as she flowers, and overall care and feeding. A plant that is healthy with all the right attributes of a heavy yielder going into flowering will do well, regardless on how it got to that point. Have any pictures?

I think you are right I was trying to emphasise the short vegging period rather than much else. I was also assuming the plant would be healthy and have the attributes of a fast grower and high yielder. And so under such conditions a plant could yield more than an oz, is this what you are saying? Just not as much as say if you let it vegg for a month.

No pics yet, this is a theoretical thread at this point :)

hmmmm maybe depending on how big you get your girls before you flower and how close you heep your nodes, how many domanit head you have.. and goin from a cfl to a HPS you are goin to have to steak you shoots cuz the buds will weigh them over and could snap it,

A lot of it will be strain specific, where the genetics play a large part in overall bud size/density/etc.

In my experience with various strains, (mostly indica or hybrids), a healthy plant that gets flipped into flowering when the plant is approx 16-18" tall with internodes no more than 4" apart can and generally does produce about an oz unaltered. For my setup, it takes me about 2-3 weeks of vegetative growth for fully established clones to get to that point under T5s or MH with an increasingly aggressive feeding schedule. This is of course contingent on many things, so please keep in mind that is just generally speaking.

I understand that in order to achieve this I would need a strain which has a proven record of growing fast and yielding big. Last time I kept the cfl an inch away, maybe an inch and a half at most, which produces very tight nodes. I also used a Silica supplement, which made nice thick stems for me. Memory is so unreliable, I find it hard to believe I would have 4 nodes in 2 weeks... I guess I'll find out one day :P
