2 Weeks Flowering: 6 Strains 600w Closet Grow

So...been neglecting my beloved RIU for a while, but haven't stopped gardening. I have 6 feminized strains on 12/12 since 4/7. They're under a 600w HPS right now. Before that, they were vegging under a 600w MH conversion. In soil, 2:1 FFOF/FFLW. Using full FoxFarm nute package including solubles and also some Canna products. All are in 3 gallon pots except the Afghan Kush, which is in a 5 gallon pot.

Strains:
Afghan Kush
Blueberry
Blue Cheese
The Church
White Widow
Wonder Woman

They were all vegged for 1 month and a few days except for the Afghan Kush which vegged for 2 months and 1 week.

Nutes:
FF BigBloom (Micro)
FF Grow Big (Veg)
FF Tiger Bloom (Bloom)
FF Open Sesame (Soluble)
FF Beastie Blooms (Soluble)
FF Cha Ching (Soluble)
Canna Cannazyme (Enzymes/Old Soil Treatment)
Canna Rhizotonic (Root Stimulator)
Superthrive

At the beginning of bloom, they were all flushed with 5 gal of water (10 gal for AK) with 12mL/gal Clearex. All water or nutrient solution is pH'ed to 6.4-6.6 before it goes in the pot.

3/4 - Afghan Kush
5/6 - Blue Cheese
7/8 - Blueberry
9/10 - The Church
11/12 - White Widow
13/14 - Wonder Woman

Feel free to comment! I have a feeling that this is gonna be more of a slide show than a journal.

Still no love for the grow?? Well, here's a picture update. They're starting to flower hard now.
Notes: Trichome formation has started and I'm starting to be able to distinguish their unique smells. Particularly The Church which smells really earthy and almost like shoes in a way.

looks good. any more updates?
why did you veg your afghan for so long? did that extra month do a lot for the plant?

I actually didn't mean to..I initially had 6 different seedlings, but my girlfriend gave me the flu right after I planted so I was in her bed for a day while she was taking care of me so I wasn't thinking about em and when I came back, the AK was the only survivor, so I just got 5 more fem seeds and started em a month later. She is definitely much, much bigger. I topped her probably 6 times, so she's a big bush. I also had to transplant her into a 5 gal pot. Its turned out to be inconvenient for my setup though..I'm really running out of space. I had to tie em all back to cut down their profiles a little bit.

I really like the Fox Farm series. I'm a big fan of simplicity, so the FF package is great. I like the solubles too, they seem to give em an extra kick in bloom. They are a little strong though..if you are planting in a rich soil like FFOF then start at 1/2 strength max. I'm yet to break 3/4 strength in bloom and theres a tiny amount of burn on some of the tips so be careful. I'd definitely recommend a preharvest flush as well, the solubles will give you some build up.

I'll post an update in a few minutes. :bigjoint:

looking good! have you noticed any problems with feeding so many different strains the same feed?
Actually yeah...I'm noticing that the blue strains (Blueberry and Blue Cheese) and the Afghan Kush like to drink a little more water and like slightly higher nute levels than the others. When I kicked up to 3/4 strenth the Wonder Woman and The Church showed a little burning. If things get too off balance I may go to two separate waterings and concentrations.

those all look hella bomb...wut u think ur dry wieghts gonna be id think 400grams
Yeah man that's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I'm shooting for 1lb so basically 450g, but I'll be happy with whatever I get. I'm the most curious to see how much more the AK produces than the rest considering her 1 extra month of vegging.

damn, i thought that afghan kush was 2-3 plants from the thumbnail view...but im excited to see how your WW turns out. keep us posted.

how tall were they when you switched to flowering? your plants look huge compared to mine, although mines been vegging for almost 2 months(probably cause i vegged for a month under CFLs).

also how soon do you put your plants under the MH after they sprout?

Yeah man, the AK is getting to be a handful. It's starting to get difficult to move em all in and out of the closet without catching branches or bumping the door frame. I feel bad when I accidentally bump the buds on something, but it's almost inevitable with my space. :? The AK was vegged for 2 month and topped multiple times, and I bet if I hadn't have topped her she'd be over 4 feet. The 600w MH makes a huge different in veg.

When I went 12/12, heights were:
Afghan Kush - 28"
Blueberry - 26.25"
Blue Cheese - 27.75"
The Church - 21.75"
White Widow - 21"
Wonder Woman - 17.5"

About a month into veg under MH, they start to explode, it's pretty ridiculous. This grow, I realized they were getting too big so I flipped to 12/12. I think I was a little ambitious this time around, the closet's pretty overgrown and light penetration to lower buds is limited, so I clipped the first couple nodes, nothing drastic. I plant in small square planters and leave seedlings in my CFL prop chamber until they are fairly well established. I'd say at least 3 nodes with as little stretching as possible. The goal is to get a solid root base formed so transplanting will be easy. Usually after the cotyledons (small round leaves at base of stem that are first emerge from the seed) die off and they start asking me for nutes (slight yellowing on lowest real leaf set) I will transplant. If your seedlings are planted in a richer soil or if they're being stunted by conditions then your timing may be different.

I attached a plot of each of my plant's heights vs. time. Might be hard to read, but it's interesting to see the strain differences. Also, AK and BB were topped, or I'd expect to see them at the top.

Good luck with your grow. Keep us updated with some flowering pics. bongsmilie

I was looking over the babies after they woke up today like I usually do, when I found something sad. The Blueberry has gone hermaphrodite on me... At first I thought I spotted some seeds developing in a couple of the upper buds. Most even had what looked like pods covering them. After sifting around a little, I found a couple clusters and no seeds or sacs on any of the others, so I'm 99% sure they're pollen sacs. A week ago, I bumped up nutes to 3/4 strength and the BB had a bad reaction to it. I've since flushed and everything is fine, but I think I'll probably be chopping the he-she anyways. I'm thinking that it was the nute stress that probably caused the hermie. I've never seen an intersex plant first-hand, so if someone with experience can confirm this please chime in.

Everything is going pretty well. Got a picture update. Found a few more seeds here and there from the Blueberry that decided to blow on me. I couldn't find more than 3 in any one plant and only 3/5 affected, so thankfully the hermie didn't turn out to be a big problem. I also found a small patch of botrytis in one of the AK buds. She was immediately removed and the patch as well as material surrounding it was removed and disposed of. Humidity is in the 60% range and I'm having trouble keeping it down. The closet is connected to a bathroom/shower, but the bathroom is always open to keep it vented. I'm watching and hoping that the mold doesn't come back.

Did you take any clones before flowering since you used the Mh for veg? That may keep your tree height under control. I FIM at the second node and clone the tops.
