2 Pound - Critical+ 2.0

Hey guys and gals, just finished a grow of what I believe was my lower yielding C2.0 on one side of a 4x8 Tent. The other side had a mixture of a couple other strains. I was aiming for 1.5p but from my wet numbers (cure is underway ) I far exceeded that on the one side. (https://www.rollitup.org/t/1-5lbs-light-in-a-2x1000w-in-a-4x8ft-tent.972631/)

Now sit back, hit subscribe and follow along. I'm aiming for 2p+ on one side of my tent under a 1000w HPS. Hoping to hit the numbers with what I believe to be my higher yielding C2.0 pheno.

On the other side I'm growing 4 different plants (pineapple express #2, skullcap and my fire strain Critical Kush) while trying to find new fire mothers in some of them. Obviously growing Multiple strains on one side of the 4x8 Tent under one light will squew numbers so for my end results I'm aiming for the 2p on the one side thats purely C2.0.

I'm running Ebb and Flow 5gal Buckets under a double scrog net. I use a scarecrow technique I've picked up from Max420THC. I'm growing in 100% pure perlite since transplanting from coco coir solo cups and 1gal. I'm running the Lucas Formula which requires only the General Hydroponics Micro and Bloow at a ratio of 8ml micro and 16ml bloom/gal. Ill also be adding Calmag, Turantula (for 1 week, used it in veg as well) pond enzyme cleaner (2-4 weeks) and potassium Silica.

I cloned all these plants and they have been in solo cups for 3 weeks then 1gal for 1.5week. I've FIMed and cropped the tops selecting 4 terminal stems. I've moved them into the final 5gal buckets under 1000w HPS 18hr/6hr (bulbs will be replaced with new bulbs when i flip to 12/12) and after setting them I place I trimmed the tops even. Once the tops are even, I removed every lower sucker at each node (see pics) leaving just the 4 tops to shoot up. Ill veg for 1 - 2weeks (my judgement) before flipping to 12/12. The harvest will be approx 50-60 days from then.

Any questions ask.

Now for the pics.
This is the C2.0 I grew last

You dont cover your roots / tables?

Do you get algae, slime, drying out roots between floods ?

Hows your tank ?

No dry roots, however there is white resedue from the fertilizer on the table. I just use pickling Vinegar every 4 months to clean the table. I have a lid on my flood table res and having a bubbler seem to keep everything fine

It might be called something else but it's how Max420thc discribed it. Basically right before I flip the lights I cut every top even, even if that means cutting off 3 or more top bud sites. All even as possible.

Then i go through all the lower bud sites removing them all the way back to the V of the fan leaf and terminal stem. I'll say it again, leave the fan leaf and remove the bud site branch (sucker branch) leaving only the very top bud sites. Basically what I'm saying is that if I have 5 terminal stems when im done butchering the plant there are tonnes of fan leaves, and only 5 bud sites. Then i flip the lights. These 5 sites take off. It's really scary even now for me, but I assure you it works. Once they take off, you can watch as the plant grows, over the next few weeks the new growth may have budsites that start to stretch away from the plant. Anything that stretches off more then 2 inches gets cut off. I usually have 1 or 2 on each terminal branch the first week and then maybe 1 on the second and third weeks. Net is usually lowered week 2 or 3.

Multiple grows will obviously improve yields as you read the strain you have and learn when to stop clipping.

This works for most strains is what Max420thc says, however there are about 10% of strains that just do not work with this method. If it doesn't work toss the genetics and try the next.

Started Week 3 of Flower on Friday

Everything is going great and plants are progressing smoothly. I change the water everytime i recycle a full reservoir of fresh water into the nutrient water.
Plant height growth has slowed down. When i started the flip i was sitting around 18 inches. The plants have now reached a height of 30 inches. I expect maybe another 3-6 inches of growth still then it should stop.

Here are the pics, These girls are going to start putting on weight really soon. This is going to be very nice to watch, subscribe to get the updates!

Starting Week 4
-----------------

Everything was going good until the water addback last night. Looks like my sump pump broke and spilled mineral oil into the res. From what i've read it shouldn't affect the plant. I drained the reservoir, wiped it clean as possible and purchased a new pump. Once i refilled there was a little oil on the surface still. Tossed paper towel on it and its basically all cleaned up.

So how would you use this technique with bigger plants
Are you topping or FIM if so from what size
If you are using bigger plants? I'm guessing you mean 1 plant per screen vs 9/screen. If that's the case you would simply make more tops using your favorite method. I prefer to just top the plant. Once you have enough tops let's say 32 total. You make them all even canopy before you flip the lights. Then the technique is the same. You'll probably not hit as well on the outcome numbers, as you will with 9 plants but it should better then anything you experienced before. This is also granted that the plant genetics you're growing has the longer bud structures vs some strains that kind of popcorn all over the plant.

I'd also recommend a good medium like perlite.

You'll also be more successful using clones and growing them to size then say flowering out an old mother. Also, replace your Mothers frequently with the best clone you get!

Thanks for the reply
I have done a rig a good few times but I allways get a mixture of a few good tips then lots of smaller ones i think it it due to having to many bud sites the plant just don’t have the energy to make them all big . I have grown critical 2.0 and critical lush but for me they have allways been shorter colas. Rather than the long running type. So basically I can top a few times early then before flower take everything but leaves off to the top bud site , are you just picking the strongest branches to keep thanks

Love the critical +2.0 made fem seeds in winter and have seedlings outdoors with another 2 or 3 months if veg. Keep up the good work

Yeah I had picked all my tops by this point. First grow Ive been using about 32 tops total. So to figure out how many tops per plant simply just take the amount of plants in total and divide them into 32. Cut them completely even, then I removed all bud sites accept the even top sites. Then flip to flower and watch those tops grow. Pinch tops that are growing faster. Only remove branches that start to stray from the main branch by more then an inch or two (i do it 2-3 times total over the 2-3 week period) . After two or 3 weeks, lower the screen and evenly seperate the tops for light penitration. After that it's just sit back, watch and do res changes. That's it..

I managed to process all 9 plants and with in minutes of handling the second pheno, which I thought was my higher yielding pheno, that this version was actually much less dense bud structure. I never noticed because I try to never touch plants in flower Because it seems to cause damage to the buds.

Anyways I track each pot on take down and after weighing the first plant I could now see in numbers that my hunch was true.

Even though these plants looked as good, if not more healthy then the last batch, with more tops and fairly even canopy, and great cola spacing, they still produced less.

Keep in mind the other pheno was approx 4110g wet. This grow was only 3383g.

Its very discouraging but I'll wait until final dry numbers for weigh in and if they agree, I'll be getting rid of the other pheno. I did have one more seed, of critical 2.0,so I can see what that one does also.
