could 2 200w lights rated for a 3x3 be over kill in a 2x3 and cause more problems. i got one over each plant

youd need to determine the actual flux

its probably less than 200 real watts and very low on umol/J

400W of high efficiency light in a 3x3 is on the upper end of flux and might cause problems

"400W" of 4 year old cheap china lights is prob 1/4-1/2 of the flux described above

These small purple fixtures need to be quite high above the canopy too. They tend to focus the light at a spot straight under the fixture. This gives a nice high intensity for them to take a single PPFD spot measurement and then claim the light is twice as efficient as HPS

In practice this hot spot also causes bleeching in plants.

both those look iffy, at least the first one has photometrics ("1.96 umol/W")

you should ask them to back that up with test results

of course they "sound good"

thats what marketing is for

in 2018, no photometrics = no deal
Actually it does give some photometrics, which are quite poor by 2018 standards:
"At 210 actual watts and 320 μMol/s total photon flux" - thats barely 1.5 uMol/J

these sound good.
https://www.ledgrowlightsdepot.com/collections/black-dog-led-grow-lights/products/black-dog-led-phytomax-2-200-led-grow-light

heard of them for a while the 400 or 200 in a 2x3 tent sounds like it could do good
If you look at the specs they give they are extremely average. That thing is a hair over 1.5 uMol/J efficiency - compare that to something like Fluence SpiderX which is 2.45 uMol/J efficient. Any decent Quantum board build is going to be in the same 2.4-2.5 uMol/J range as well as decent strip builds. Even my budget strip builds are at ~2.1 uMol/J

That thing ain't worth $100 bucks, much less the $600+ they are charging for it.

i have an option to buy a 5 month old hlg 260w qb v2 4000k for $200 would it flower a 2x3 nicely
At that price, as long as it's in good condition, I wouldn't pass it up. A few guys here have flowered under 4000k, and I haven't heard any complaints.
