Deadly incidents occurred in five-hour period at shops just six miles apart

LOS ANGELES - Two workers at medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles were killed in apparent robberies that occurred within hours of each other, police said.

An employee of the Hollywood Holistic store was found dead at the scene at around 9:05pm local time Thursday (12:05am ET Friday). Police would not say how the worker was killed, only that it was a homicide.
Earlier Thursday, police said a worker at a medical marijuana dispensary in the Echo Park neighborhood was shot to death and another wounded in an apparent robbery.
Police said an unknown number of suspects burst into the Higher Patch Holistic Care store shortly before 4:15 p.m. (7:15 p.m. ET) and shots were fired.
It's not known if the two incidents were related. NBC News reported that the stores are located about six miles apart.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the shootings came as city officials try to regulate hundreds of marijuana stores that have popped up amid California's dispensary boom.

the clubs i go to have armed security. i vend to a club that has a guy with a gun tazer and pepper spray, the door is locked and he lets you in. as a club owner safety and security are your responsibility, don't be cheap hire security, don't leave the door open for groups of people to burst in. you know you handle large amounts of cash and bud, everyone else knows it too. protect your self and employees.

its sad people are dead but a little thought to security could have prevented it. if you have security with guns the robbers will go where its easier to rob

this is bad news... i hope it isent the start of a trend. if it starts happening alot i can see teh government steping in an it only being state run shops with state grown herb. if that were the case id would not expect quality stuff, just run of the mill midgrade.

i guess thats closer to the worst case side of things but i think my fear is understandable

I agree, and california needs to start executing some of the monsters/people on death row, that and legalizing bud and setting all non-violent mj inmates relesed would really help the budget and overcrowded prisons and maybe give the death penalty somewhat of an actual meaning so shit like this and maybe make a few people think twice about pulling the trigger like in this case. Even if it saved 1 life it would be worth it, if you look at the crimes some of these people have done they are just absolute monsters. Death is almost too good for them. sorry for the rant lol, I just got carried away with it.
