Hey RIU users, i am attempting to build a grow pc and a grow cabinet, for the grow pc i plan on using that to get plant to the veg state then move them to the cabinet. so starting with the pc its about 16"tallx6"deepx14"wide. for the light i would have 1 Compact Light System (Includes 125 watt CFL Bulb) i have 2 about 3" fans that came with the computer i can use for intake/exhaust. and cover the inside of the pc with either aluminum foil or if i can get something like mylar for cheap, THE pc grow is only housing the plants for seedlings till either over crowded of veg state comes first, also im going to be using soil for my grow,

if possible can i grow a complete plant say 1 auto flowering inside my pc unit being 16" tall i can use a 1ft t5 bulb in opisite corners for fill in

as for the cabinet it is 41"tallx31"widex11"deep. for this i plan on using cfls at the top and t5 for fill in light, inside with either be aluminum foil or if i can get mylar or something like that, besides that im pretty much stuck on the cabinet part,

and any other things i need to take in to concideration, please drop any comments suggestions or tips.

lol thanks, and you too. money is tight for this project as i will be funding it every 2-3 weeks with an add on, is mylar cheap? and is there anything better then mylar that is cheap?

well mylar can get pretty expensive because you have to buy pretty large rolls at a time ... but instead of mylar, flat white paint is good but not that much reflective, but with a 125watt cfl in that space i dont think you'll be losing much light IMO....

well say for a pc tower should i still paint that white? or take my chanches with the aluminum foil, the paint would work great in side the cabinet, ive also read about some type of roll like mylar with black on one side and white on the other is that cheap?

the white and black film, i dont have a clue of how much it costs.... but for the aluminium, you can, it wont hurt your plants or anything, so if you just have that layin around, use it ! its still going to reflect light.....

yeah, alright, aluminum foil it is lol. better go with the cheap stuff anyways for my first time grow, dont wanna get to advanced and mess up.

so far gutted pc washed it and started to put in the aluminum foil, going to put flashlights in it to see if there is any light leaks. pic will hopefully be up tonight if i can figure out how to get them off my phone loll.
