2 gal vs 5 gal hydro

I am thinking about running 5 gal vs 2 gal buckets. I have a 55gal res. If I run 5 gal I can only run5-7 buckets versus my 15 buckets in 2 gal. I am wondering if yield with the 5 gal is worth it. Any info from those who made the switch?

I would keep veg time the same. I will be using the main lining method.

that would be interesting! i have only ever hear good things about hydro so will be cool to find out which comes out on top... even with the difference in amount of pots

how much are you pulling with a single 2 gallon pot? I get average of 3 oz a plant under 5 gal dwc

I never took weight. Under 2k watts and 15 plants I harvested about 2.5lb dry. This is with clones and flowering at 18 inches.

with hydro the bigger the container does not equal bigger plants. the bigger the res the better for you and your plants.

the five gallons should provide plenty of root space, can't go wrong.

Yes of course but is that enough to overcome growing 8 less plants yield wise?
