Hey guys I just grabbed a 2 foot 8 bulb t5ho and am looking to see what it can do in the flowering department.I normally just use a whack of mixed cfl but am considering packing some 2 liter hempys under this new light.I have seen plenty of good grows with the 4 foot t5s but has anyone had any luck with the 2 footers? I figure I can fit between 4-6 2 liter bottles under it.

Pack 'em under the lights, for sure. But, you will still want to cram the hell outta it with CFLs. You can (and should) SOG/SCROG under those lights, keep them as close as the plants can stand (if the back of your hand is ok, so are the buds) and supplement with CFLs on the sides.
what do ya need the extra cfls for? you could just as easily put a few of 2' T5 HO units around the sides, and get more effective lumens per $$. Only use I could see from the CFLs is to drop one in the middle of the canopy, like in a vertical grow.

I was certainly planning on adding side lighting, although I am hoping the plants stay quite short so it MIGHT not be needed although more is always better.Anyone have any experience on these 2 foot set ups? Would be nice to see some success so I know I am not wasting my time haha

Under a 2 ft T5 you can only do 1 maybe 2 small plants SOG style since the plant needs to be right under the light.
I put that to the test already and can fit more then 2 under the light, actually.As stated in the original post I am looking to use 2 liter bottles.The plan is to go from clone with white domina as it will be quite easy to keep the plants to single colas......atleast that is the plan im going with!

I use a 2'x4 (96w) and I love it! I can get 24 solos under it so i can do a perpetual 1 week apart with 2 plants harvest each week.
