I will, because I know that now that I am monocropping 5 clones of my keeper mother that I'll get a pound or better from just 5 plants encircling a 400w bare bulb hung vertically.

Keep avoiding the question Joe!

People that avoid answering a question have something to hide.

I'm going out to eat,I'll be back later to see if you've answered or keep avoiding the question at hand lol!

hi first time grower setting up my room its an 8x8 . looking for advice /opinions on 2 600 watt lights vs 1 1000. I bought a 1000 watt setup while it was on sale for the room and a friend then told me I should have bought 2 600's instead pls offer your thoughts on this subject ty. this room is just for late vegg and flowering I have a separate set up with fluorescents for germin and early veg.
I'd use 4 x 600w in an 8' x 8'

well i'm happy for ya out ;)

to each their own man. but don't claim what you are doing there is efficient. Please don't

there is nothing efficient about a scrog.....at all

not saying you can't pull great yields with it...I know you can.

just not efficiently.

Lol i dont know why you are so sold on 600's. they dont hit as many spectrum's. When you get a 1000 watt hortilux going it cant be touched by 2 600's. im sure you have never researched what happens when you push a light to the max. well 1000 watt lights do and you get more spectrum's. 600's are good lights but they dont compare to the 1000's. i would take 1 1000 over 2 600's any day. With 600's you get .50 -.75 gram per watt. and 1000's you get .70-1.1 grams per watt. more par means bigger cola's period. and why would you want to hang 4 lights when you just need 2. if you are growing a sog then use 4 1000 watt lights. Its simple they already did all the tests and grows. 600's dont compete with 1000's. thats like comparing a 400 to 600.
A 1000w emits no more of the spectra (spectrums..lol..) than a 600w

Just remember a one ounce bud has a big stem in the middle.
so I tell ya what. You send me all your colas, and i'll give you all my popcorn...since those big ol' stems are such a problem for ya ;)

fair trade I think..you get what you want, I get what I want

happy happy happy :)

you are doing the right thing. when you get ready to buy another get one with hortilux bulbs. trust me. huge diff. and a dim able ballast oh yeah you are gonna be set bro. my grow area isnt big enough for them but my friends is. and omg he switched his bulbs for this grow and he cant believe the diff. he is at 4 weeks flower and his buds are size of 3 weeks flower last grow with cheaper bulbs. the money is worth it, cant go wrong with hortilux. when i buy a tent you know what ill be using if i go with hps. edit lol his 4 weeks buds are same size as 5 weeks buds. im high lol.
Your buddy getting faster bud development with cheaper bulbs would seem to contradict " the money is worth it, cant go wrong with hortilux "

My plant I grew in the back yard where I have a 15 watt CFL nearby (50 yards!) produced 1-1/2 oz. That's 1.5oz x 28gm/15w =2.8gm/watt. I are the world's greatest grower. And I didn't even turn the light on!

Honestly, the biggest reasons people choose 600w over 1000w is initial money to buy equipment and then electricity costs, which can be a 100 to 200 bucks a month depending on State electricity costs and watts used.

K am gonna say this now. 600 1000 whatever. In veg the 315 lec and flower the 630 with xl hoods. blows hps away. more yield better quality. Yeah I would like to take back a few things I said here but cant.
