Hey guys, finally I'm up and growing at my new place. I have a 400hps with some high quality soil from my local hydro store. I told the guy what I wanted and he started to fill up the cart. So far I have 4 clones(2 Purple Diesels and 2 G13's:mrgreen:(I know it's most likely a hash or kush hybrid)) and 7 seeds of a Bud called Chronic #1? that I purchased from a local Medical Dispensary. I have the seeds in red cups that I planted from the germination stage about 2 weeks ago and the clones are about 4 weeks now, all still vegging. I have a pretty good size room, 20ft x 7ft., and I am using the fox farm trio(Big bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom). The clones have been transplanted into 5 gallon containers(soil about 3/4's full) and I am watering them every 2 or 3 days, or when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. The seeds are getting watered about ever 4 days and yes they have many drainage holes. I have 3 fans in the room, two facing the plants, another circulating the room. I have been using store bought water(crystal geyser gallon jugs, PH:6.5) and using the ferts every other watering as directed by Fox Farm. I have the light about 2 1/2 feet above both the clones and the seeds(raised up on top of a bucket) right now and raising the light as the plants grow. The seeds are not feminized and I'm getting a little worried as in how I plan on filtering out the males without pollinating the clones/possible female seeds. Also I plan on vegging out the seedlings for at least 2 more weeks. Is it possible to over veg the clones who are approx 4 weeks? I would love any help on the subject as it is my first time and I am new to the growing world. I just added a bunch of pictures with a couple of my concerns. I just loaded all of the pictures into the forum(thanks jamie). I also have a bunch of questions in the descriptions. And again, any help would be great, even if it is irrelevant at the moment. Thanks again and happy medicating!:joint::joint:

Here's my room!

My Weapons of Choice, The Fox Farm Trio(Big Bloom NPK: .01-.3-.7, Grow Big NPK: 6-4-4, and Tiger Bloom NPK: 2-8-4)- and some sweetener(NPK: 0-0-0).

Here's my thermometer/Humidity Gage. The Temp has usually been around 70-85 degrees, humidity ranges from 50-65%(a little high in the pic because I had just watered)

My waters, the Ph of the water is 6.5

My ballast, a good one I hope.

My 400Hps bulb. Does anyone know if I can upgrade my bulb to a 600-1000 with my ballast?

My pretty simple pulley system.

Here's my Fox Farm feeding chart. I've been following it for the most part, using the ferts every other watering. I water every 2-3 days.

My super sophisticated drainage system :???:, if anyone has any suggestions or better ideas, let me know, this works for now but I don't want it to be permanent.

So I keep that bucket of water in the room to keep up the humidity, i guess it works pretty well because it stays around 55-60% most of the time.

AND NOW, THE REASON FOR ALL OF THIS...

Here are my plants, I have 2 Purple Diesel clones, 2 "G-13" clones, and 7 seeds of Chronic #1, a strain I picked up at a local cannabis club.(why yes, I do medicate.) The 4 clones are around 4 weeks and the seedlings were planted 2 weeks ago yesterday.

Here is a picture of my taller Purple Diesel

Here is a pic of the growth and leaves underneath the fan leaves.

And here I give you the "G-13". Now I know the story, and the myths, and i'm sure it must be cross-bred with either a kush or a hash plant, but I bought these clones at the Cannabis club and everyone there said it was the most powerful, and purest strain of G13 they have ever seen, we can ony wait...
:blsmoke:

Here is the underneath of the G-13, not as bushy as the Purple Diesel, but taller and much longer leaves and you can see below.

These leaves are hard to take my eyes off of.

I notice this on my two Purple Diesels, I felt like it didn't have enough N? I gave it a solid dose of the Fox Farm Grow big which has an NPK of 6-4-4 and it already looks better, but still uncertain if i am right, anyone?

This is the other leaf in the picture above, the yellow leaves are only on Purple Diesel, It hurts me to look at this one.

The Ladies, well i hope....

And here are my seedlings. They are 2 weeks old. I've had a lot of trouble with a couple of them from the start, although they are looking better every day.

How come some of the leaves are curling? i still think it's over fert. Also the ones that are not directly under the light are growing faster, should i move the others? the light? the taller ones are closer to the wall fan. could that have anything to do with it? I have tried to rotate them evenly.

MALES!!!I don't want to pollinate the females but I don't know any "great" ways to separate them without taking too many chances, any help would be appreciated! only about 2 more weeks..

Here is a picture of my two strongest seedlings. Unfortunately I have heard that the stronger, faster growing seeds are usually the males. knock on wood...

Does anyone know what this is??? I have it on 4 of the 7 seedlings. I also was having some of the leaves curl and scrunch up. I think I was over fertilizing them, using the same ferts as I was giving the clones which are 2 weeks older and 10 inches taller. I stoped the ferts and they are slowly looking better, I hope that works. Anyone seen this before?

Also... I found this growing in one of my 5-gallon buckets. right on the edge of the dirt. I had watered them the night before, so this must have grew overnight. Anyone know a good pesticide? preferably 100% organic?

Thank you for checking out my journal/help forum, please feel free to give any advice or leave any comments that you might feel I could use. I am always learning just as a good grower should. I will be sure to add more pictures as time to come and happy growing to everyone!:joint::joint:

What strength of nutes are you giving? And what exactly is the soil? For good placement with the light put it at a certian height above the plants and put your hand right above the plant. If your hand gets too hot raise the light if your hand does not heat up you can probably safely move it down a couple inches and test again.

sounds like you have things set up pretty well....can't help you on the strain q?s....but the rest of your setup seems like it will work just fine....overvegeing.....not really a problem unless you have a height restriction....less vege less overall height and vice versa.....pics always help if you can ...?thanks for sharing!

Hey, thanks for the responses. I'm using roots organic potting soil, the nutes i'm using are Grow Big which has a NPK of 6-4-4 and the Big Bloom which is only .01-.3-.7 and is really use to allow good flow of nutes to the plant. Height isn't really a problem, the ceiling is an easy 8 ft. Could you see the pictures in my gallery? how do I add them to the thread?

About the nutes. Are they specific for flower and vegging? Are you giving full doses? Do you check the PPM and pH of your water?

i don't think that worked, yes i've checked the ph of the water, i'm using crystal geyser which has a ph of 6.5
Edit: How do you post images from a gallery?

You didn't tell me what strength you were giving your nutes. Full, half, what dose? Or better yet whats the PPM?

Hey jamie, I added some pictures with some info on the nutes. I'm using the just the fox farms grow big (6-4-4) and the Big Bloom (.01-.3-.7). I think this is what your asking, I'm a little confused. Thanks

So it's been almost 4 weeks. And this means that my clones should be around 5-6 weeks vegged....:hump: I just put them on 12/12 lighting schedule last night. 3am-3pm off. I don't know if this is the best idea because of the cold at night, but I have a heater that has been keeping the temp no lower than 70 and no higher than 78. So I think they should be ok. I think they are looking pretty healthy. One of the G13s are growing multiple, different numbered leaves. Some have 5 some 7 some 3-4? Anyone have any idea why? Otherwise, everything is green and looking happy. I water every other day and still use the Fox farm nutes, every other watering. I'm just about to start using the Tiger Bloom for the rest of the 12/12 cycle. Enjoy the pics and tell me what you think. Happy medicating...:joint::joint:

MORE PICTURES!!!!! I am at my 6th week of growing. I had vegged the clones for 4 weeks (they were about a week old when I bought them(medical marijuana)) and the seeds were planted on Jan. 29th, so about 5 weeks old. I added mylar, the room lights up like crazy!!! I only have a 400 watt HPS so I hope the mylar works wonders. I will definitely have to upgrade to a 1000 watt for my next grow. But So far 5 of my 7 seedlings have turned out to be female, thank you beautiful. So far I am still sticking to my original fox farm nute set-up and I have absolutely no complaints. I am a little worried about reaching the ceiling though. about 5 feet from the tops to the ceiling and I still have around 55 days left of flowering. My humidity is still higher than i would like. I'm going to make a vent system tonight. Post my work soon. Hope you enjoy the pics. Happy medicating!!:joint::joint:

The new mylar

The newly pronounced females..

The mylar gets light everywherel!!

A close up of the Purple Diesel!!

And a close up of the Award Winning G-13 (Cannabis Cup - 2008)

Thanks for checking out where I'm at so far. I'll post some more pics in a week or two.. Happy medicating!:joint::joint:

looking real good man - you're having no problems it looks like right now. The height issue you are asking about is no problem- a good rule of thumb people use here is expect them to double or even sometimes triple in size after you switch from veg to flowering stage.

happy growing!
