Hi all, My name is Mark and I’m from the back end of nowhere J

This is my first post, and I did search for an answer on the forum first before writing this request for advice. This is my very first grow, so nervous about getting it right.

Anyways, I have 9 young little seedlings (2 weeks) that have been living in peat plugs for the best part of two weeks now. I’ve got them in a tent. Temp set to 25 and humidity 80 and a CFL unit 6-8cm from the top of them.

I’ve just been giving them water with a PH of about 7ish and no nutrients at all as the peat plugs have more than enough to get them going.

I intend to have them in a Hydroponic Autopot system with a 100lt tank (already purchased). I will be using high grade coco and perlite with Ionic Coco Grow nutrients.

Today I set up 9 larger pots (see photos) with coco/perlite mix. I flushed the coco/perlite mixture with ph5.5 water, then let it drain for a couple of hours. I then re-potted the plants into them. They are by no means the final pot, but plenty roomier. There were plenty roots poking out of the plugs when I placed them in the new pots.

Once they were all potted, I placed them back in the tent on a heat mat, then watered them with my newly mixed nutrient enriched water (50% strength, used an EC Meter and a PH meter until we got it perfect at ph5.5).

This was all completed about 9 hours ago. I’ve been to check on them just now and they seem fine.

1. Have I been doing the right thing here?
2. Is putting a peat plug into a coco/perlite mixture ok?
3. Do I persist with the CFL for a little while longer, or do I use my 135w Evader Full Spectrum LED now? Are they ready to handle it? (when they get bigger I will be getting another LED.) Basically, are they ready for going into full veg state?
4. Do I need any other try of drugs to help them along at this early stage?

Thanks for any help advice you pros can offer :-)

Mark

PS. The first image is the plugs, the second is after the repot.

1. water/flush at 6.5 ph not 5.5.

2. yup.

3. you can use your led.

4. remember to get a good calcium and magnesium supplement as more than half of people deficiencies on riu are cal/mag related.
