Morning all. I am going to do my 1st grow. I'm using a microspace. It is a repurposed cabinet. The open space available is 11 3/4" deep x 19 1/2" tall x 24 1/4" wide. I have proper vent holes and will be using CFL lighting. I have zero experience with this but want to do it proper in the space I have to use.

First off is this space enough to yeild end product? What strain is reccommended for the space I'm working with? (any suggestion on seed bank would help as well). How many CFL bulbs should I use? Is this space good for just a single plant or can two grow in there?

Sorry for the 20 questions.

Thanks,

Hi
Your grow space should be fine. just look on the forum for pc/ micro grows.
Imho 2 plants max for your space with some LST.
Northern Lights would be my first grow recommendation.
As for Cfl's as many as you can, just watch out the temps dont get out of control.

My best advice to you is, look at other growers journals, and use them to work out what suits your needs the best.

good luck

My temp reading right now is super low 55 F. Lighting has not been set up yet. I was planning on using CFL's. Will CFL's put out any heat that would get the temps up to a viable range? What if I went with a standard Fluorescent light instead of the CFL (more heat?) What about a Lithonia Fluorescent light set up? It is 24" with two 18" 14 Watt 6500K bulbs

Quick bump. Looking to buy lights today to get up and running by next week. With my micro cab is the two T5 Fluro set up good enough? Would I have better yield under a 150W HPS?

I think you'll probably always get a better yield under HPS as apposed to CFL... But there's cost to buy, cost to run and temps to consider. HPS are more expensive to buy and to run (as far as i'm aware), and they also chuck out a ton more heat than CFLs.

i agree with mewks. I have never used hps in a space of your size. It may be ok if you can rig up a cool tube.

Well, have a greenomatic seedling rocking in the cab. Right now it is in a small pot of jiffymix seed mix. At what point should I transplant, and what soil should I use? Could I mix some basic potting soil with some more jiffymix like 50/50? I'm also getting too much heat out of 4 bulbs so I think I need to remove one of the bulbs. I have good vent and a fan going, I'm pretty shocked that the temp got to 90 F.
