ok so first off hello to all fellow RIU peeps i am new to the site i am a novice grower heading into my second grow with clones from my first run.
i am going to try and do my best at making this journal up to date and informative.

DETAILS: Im feeding with Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow a/b and Sensi Bloom a/b, Advanced Nutrients piranha fungi, and botanicare sweet grape for now, waiting for some Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy.
Im running a small closet grow about 2' x 4' and about 8' high, soiless mix, 4oo watt hortilux super hps light with height adjustable chain, 50/50 mix of ozinated water and tap water in a 20 gallon bin, im adding oxygen with a small fish tank air stone. i have a height adjusting 16" whirlwind motion fan and regular washroom ventilation fan. i dont have anything sucking fresh air in but i open the closet a few times a day and there's a little opening at the bottom where the vent fan goes out. i have a rolled up piece of carbon taped inside my exhaust vent and bounce sheets at the exit, the air is then blown towards an ionizer air purifier.

so my clones are from my first grow which hasnt finished yet but should be ready in a month or so. im growing a feminised Northern Light & Big Bud cross from world of seeds which i have 2 surviving clones from and Strawberry Haze from Green House which i have 1 surviving clone from. My other plant is Kandy Kush which i kinda rushed into flower just cause i dont have a proper setup for vegging and flowering sections just a big tupperware bin. it was too small to take a clone from i think.

I cut my clones on jan 5th and used Wilson rooting gel then placed them into a moist soiless mix. I put them in my nursery setup which is just a 20 gallon bin with a fishtank light with flouresent tube. Being my first time and a shity setup i dont think things went well, the humidity was really high like 65% and the soil would not dry out, all the plants looked limp and shriveled, im pretty sure 5 of the 10 clones died so i tossed them, i was afraid if any roots were growing they would end up being over saturated with water so i moved them into better pots and into my closet with the hps light. I put them down at the bottom so they wouldnt get too much direct light and slowly the soil dryed out, i fed them ph balanced water and foliar sprayed a few times a day, eventually another two looked dead so i fed the last three some piranha fungi and they seem to look better. i let the 2 that i thought died dry up and decided to check for roots and sure enough they both had some, so i know the three healthy ones should def have roots, i only have room for 3 plants to veg anyway.
Attached are pics of the mother plants in their current states, the clones and the clone grow box.

With this grow im hoping that people may be able to learn things about the strains and most likely what not to do lol, im also hoping some of the pros here on RIU will follow along the journey with some much needed advice as i attempt to grow my first clones. I am thinking of trying out LST on the northern/bigbud plants since the mother is pretty big and bushy im thinking this could work to increase yeild. I may try FIM on the Strawberry haze clone but im scared lol, the mother plant seems kinda scrawny to me and i dont think its gonna yeild much, im thinking FIM will help to fatten up the plant make more branches and bushy like. For now im gonna run the florecent light for 20/4 for about a month or until my other plants harvest and i can move the clones to the closet.

Any questions comments concerns are greatly appreciated. Wish me luck

lol well dam wish i could give u advice but this is my first grow ever and my seeds have just popped like 4days ago so they only got first set of leaves on em however.. u said ur KK looked scranny well my baby even though its only first set of leaves the kandykush leaves compared to the other 4 strains in there are by far the thinist skinniest lookin things... idnt if that means shit on the first set but after readin u said urs was little i thought of how small mine were.. and there not just 1st day out of shell still tiny leaves theve been under lights 18/6 ledufo..2 lil cfls for 4-5days now so watchin the other ones take off and grow the kk is stayin small.

Goodluck on ur grow too. blaze up

ya man my kandy kush took forever to get started, i germed and planted the kk and strawberry at the same time and the kk is half the size, i left it in veg for like 2 weeks longer then the strawberry and just couldnt wait any longer so shipped it into flower

my kandykush is 1 lanky bitch!!!!!!!
i put her in flowerin at 5weeks old she was about 14inches tall shes now standin at 59 inches!!! thats 1.15 metres in 3 weeks!!!i cant take a pic of her whole coz my closet is like the amazon forest lol:leaf:subscribed:leaf:

is your plant bushy? lots of branches and leaves? did it look anything like mine at any point in the grow? your info would be appreciated i was really excited about this strain, i only had 2 seeds and the first didnt germinate so she is all i have, i didnt even take a clone cause it was soo skrony, i swear it looks like im gonna yeild a half quarter of this plant lol it hurts

i cant find hardly no info on kandykush
but im sure there are a few phenos of her heres the top of mine at 3weeks

well i really must say i hope that ish picks up in growth and starts looking like yours, will i see much growth once buds start to form?

well getting back to the grow journal my clones are coming along ok i guess, not much growth at all but it looks like the roots are starting to take off which is great. im going to transplant them tomorrow into 1 gal pots and add some piranha to the root ball. having a slight issue with my ghetto nursery though seams the humidity keeps getting too high like 60%, i leave the clones in the flowering room till 7 then put them back in the nusery for the remander of the light cycle hopefully this doesnt stress the plants too much. ill update with pics after the transplant.
peace.

hello hello to those who care! lol things are starting to get on their with my first clone grow. after doing lots of research and seeing how much my current plants look like they will yeild i have decided to change my grow op a little to get some more room and add a few more plants and get more BUD!!!!! :weed: the BIG NEWS is that i am gonna attempt my first scrog grow!!!!!. i have a good idea of how this technic works and i am going to try 6 plants each with an individual scrog setup attached to the pot. since i am growing 4 or 5 different strains i want to tend to each one as needed hence the individual setup, also because my 3 clones are already growing and i havent germinated my other 3 seeds so they will be growing a few weeks behind. i have an idea of making my screen in an L shape so my closet will eventually look like weed is growing on the walls ( see drawing ). anyone know if this is a good idea? or should i just do a flat surface? i am also thinking i will first top the plants then do a little LST to bend the plants away from eachother before they reach the scrog net so i can then grow them back towards eachother as they flower!!! lol sound smart:?:
so looks like this will be a Northern Light X Big Bud(x3), Strawberry Haze, Blue Widow, & Kandy Kush scrog grow!!!! i hope this works  ill be one happy man.

been awhile since the last post so heres the update. ive changed up the closet setting took out the doors, remounted the vent fan and changed the exhaust tube and filter. these changes have givin me the room i need to grow more plants. the clones have started to show grow which is very good but some of the leaf tips are looking really weird as you can see in the one picture, anyone know what could cause that? my other plants pistals are starting to turn brown so they will be ready to harvest soon!!! i flushed and stopped feeding neuts, only the kandi kush plant is still getting nuets. anyway if anyone has tips for keeping humidity down in a rubbermaid nursery i really need to know, i check the meter this morning and it was 81%!!!!!

Hey Joe!

Good idea doing individual scrog set-ups in your space. It would be too large a space to not be able to move the plants. I think if you could get it to work right going up the walls would increase your yield. Scrog will increase your yield anyway... even if it was a flat one.

That picture looks like mostly slight nutrient burn on the tips. You did the right thing. Flush, and let the plant recover a little bit and then start back at 1/4 strength or less.

At walmart (aka the devil) there are these little wardrobe dryers. They remove moisture from the air using a dissicant material and water storage underneath. A larger (more effective) product in the same vein would be damp rid. Should decrease your humidity level by about 15% or so a better option would be dehumidifier (around 200$ vs 20 with the damp rid). However, I try to keep my vegging plants with about 50% or better humidity... But 80 is pretty high....LOL We want really low humidity for flowering though.

Hope this helps some, I am subscribed so I can continue to watch. :)

Hey Joe,

Ran through this quickly sorry if I missed anything, (Ill be back later to read more thoroughly) What do you have for exhaust in your veg box? Small fans make big impacts on humidity. If you dont have any, maybe try adding an intake and exhaust(exhaust at a lower level, intake from above.) I would if all else fails, give the plant an easy time draining by adding something to the medium like perlite. (keeping in mind however, humidity is a clones best friend prior to root development.)

I would agree with Guy, training is simply the most effective way to mass produce given small spaces and limited numbers of plants. We like to use the Scr.O.G. or Screen of Green method, as you may have noticed from the Enter the Scrog thread.
I would suggest that you spend a bit of time reading up on the various training methods and give it a shot. Seems your doing well with what you have picked up so far. Good luck, let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

hey thanks for checking out my journal and subscribing i really appreciate the info you give. im going to check out the damp rid your talking about since im only having humidity problems in my little tupperware nursery my veg/flowering closet has perfect temp and humidity so no need for a dehumidifier yet.

as for what you mentioned about the pics i posted i think i my last post may have you confused. the plant i flushed is my strawberry haze which is almost ready to harvest hence the flush and no nuets. the pic i posted with the sick leaves is my clone, i have not givin them any nuets yet only good root fungus (piranha powder). they have just started to show growth, once my first crop is harvested and i can move my clones under the hps then i will start feeding nuets. i am just curious if the high humidity is whats causing the leaf tips to curl like that?

Could be signs of rooting then. Usually a few leaves will turn yellow and die off as the clones root. As long as it produces new growth it is ok to loose the leaves. High humidy for clones is a good thing since until they grow roots they feed through the leaves too.

As long as you have new growth that is healthy I wouldn't worry about the tips just yet.

WOW!!! you dont know how much better that makes me feel, i was worried about root rot since the moisture stops the soil from drying up but ya i guess if i have new growth things are ok:clap:

hey guys just posting some updated pics of my first crop looks like they will be ready to harvest real soon, also germinated a blue widow seed to use in this grow journal and add to my new scrog adventure, the first blue widow seed i germinated sprouted but i didnt know how to grow  so it died just after. so please pray for this little seed! blue widow just sounds so delicious lol:weed: i really want it to grow big and green.

hey woodsman thanks for the info, ill look into getting a small computer fan to stick in the clone box to help bring the humidity down a bit but not much since its good for the clones. ive done a lot of reading on training styles, FIM, topping, supercropping, LST, SOG, SCROG and i have decided to use a combo.

 first top the clones at the 5th or 6th branch to hopefully get 4 main cola, then start LST once it gets a lil bigger, once the plant has stretched about 8" above the pot i will install the individual scrog net and get ready to flower.

im hoping this will give me an increased yeild as compaired to my first grow. can anyone tell me if this is just too much training for the poor plant? or do i have the right idea?

thanks again
