i started to use the powder ph down and it leaves residue in the res and on the net pots is that normal ? and also one of the plants rockwool got real soggy and lost its shape its just a chunk of rockwool holding the roots is that going to effect anything in the future ? if so what should i do

first let me say i am no expert at all. i don't think any thing in a powder form is a good choice in hydro. if it comes in powder or liquid, get the liquid. the rockwool will be fine, but it should never be so soggy it would do that.

nah people said the powder ph is the same as the liquid , thats more of a cost choice tho . my liquid ph is already almost done after 2 weeks so i got the powder and this things gonna last for a couple months

i dont think so but the 1st time i used the liquid ph this didnt happen once i used the powder thats when it started

was your set up new when you used liquid ph? if so thats why you didn't see salts...whats this residue look like? white and crusty? slimey and brown/green?

never use powder in hydro, exception being beneficial bacteria and enzymes. a gallon of down is $17 and last 11-12 months with 3 50gal res's and a 30gal res all running a perpeptual grow.

where do you see ph down $17 a gallon ? i checked on ebay and its like $15 just for a 8oz of ph down.. and it was like a white/yellowish slime on the air stone and net pots i cleaned it up tho i think the problem was that some of the powder i guess sunk to the bottom and sat there and thats what created the residue. ill stir it better next time

nice if this powder starts to cause any problems ill def purchase a gallon i just bought this powder ph tho so ima just test it for now

if you continue to use the powder i would get a condiment squirt bottle(like for catsup) and premix with water to dissolve the powder. then u can just squirt in what u need.

Her leaves are starting to discolor and look slightly yellow any know what is causing this ? and if so what should i do? shes been in 5.5 ph water for a couple of days now..
