pictures of my two plants. one has a small burn on one leaf from the light.growing under a 250w hps, about 11-12 inches away.both plants are about 5 1/2 weeks old. they both started under some pretty bad fluoro lighting though, and were nute burned young, so they were stunted to begin with. one plant was topped.

There is no real specific height or age. Generally, the longer you let them veg, the bigger the plant, the bigger/more bud. This isn't always true though, it depends on many different things. If you have a limited grow space, then it might be smart to flower your plant a bit earlier.
