1st grow: Too late to top??

Hey peeps...

On day 29 now. Moved from veg to flower after 16 days. Using 8 100W (equiv) CFLs an plants are looking SWEET! Nice an bushy an not too tall, but showing great growth everyday.

I lot I have read said to top 1 week into flowering, which for me would have been about day 23 or 24.

Is it too late to top now? Would I stunt the plants or anything if I did? It's my first ever grow and I was torn on whether to top or not.

A bonus question to answer, if you're in the mood : Say, in theory, one main kola on a plant would be 10g dry weight. If I had topped that plant, could I instead expect 2x 5g main kolas (so basically the same amount) or would it be more accurate to expect 2x 8g kolas for 16g total...is that generally why people top? The kolas aren't as big...but you get two???

I normally top while in veg after I have four or five node sets depending on how tall my plants are and then let them veg a few more weeks to let my side branches grow out

I never top once flowering. Try LST.

U may try, but I always read people recommending topping or LSTing during veg period. If you do it during 12/12 you just simply might not have enough time to have full grown branches to put some nice buds on.
And the reason of toping is to get bigger yields (more close to your second example) and to keep the plant short and bushy (especial for Sativas).

Question though...how many nodes would I let form in veg before I top? Once I top...no more nodes, right?
