I have a nice set up in my walk-in closet with a 400w MH + HPS conversion. I have good ventilation and air circulation. I just germinated 3 Femnized PPP seeds from Nirvana and placed them into FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil with added perlite and limestone. 2 seeds where planted 2 days ago and the other was planted yesterday. How long should it take on average untill my seeds break through the soil and what about lighting at this point? Do I turn the light onto 18/6 as I would for veg or do I wait till the seeds break through the soil before I turn the light on?

If you germed the seeds, before planting them it should take anywhere from 3-5 days for the seedlings to show.
And i turn my lights on once i put them in the dirt, so that once the leafs form, they have light already.
And it gets cold around here, and if your dirt gets to cold, it could kill them.

i actually use a heater to keep the temps in the high 80's low 90's before they show because as you hinted, warmth stimulates growth. and for the first 2 days i keep a plastic ziplock over them to retain heat and moisture but after a couple days you wanna take that off because the soil will stay too moist which doesn't promote growth(because the plant's roots dont need to stretch to find water)If you germed the seeds, before planting them it should take anywhere from 3-5 days for the seedlings to show.
