1st grow 1st post.. need advice (pics!)

whats up everyone, ive been on this forum for awhile just doing some research on my own but i got a couple of questions and could always use the extra advice..

i was going to start from seed but i found out a friend could get some clones so i picked up 6.. 3 durban poison and 3 og kush.. ive only had them for 2 weeks so far and had to re-pot once.

right now i have a 4bulb 4ft t5 fixture from htgsupply.com and 2 42watt cfl for some lighting on the side. i have some questions on Nutrients.. im currently using some soil from a compost heap so its really dark good stuff.. i want to keep it simple maybe like a mix for veg and a mix for bloom.. advice or comments anyone?

and the most recent ones.. right after re-pot.. i also got them on a heating mat which they seem to like.. let me know what you think.. so far the only additives to the water was some fish emulsion

also.. how big should they get before i chop the top?

looks like you could fim or top now...they should be showing sex by now...less they already were due to being clones...I have had clones both ways...ones that show presex just after rooting and ones that takeafew weeks or more to show pre sex...depending on the time I took the cuttings. At any rate they look big enough to fim or top now.

all of them showed already.. i think they were in the dark a bit too long when i got them.. but i kept them in constant light for a bit to bring them back..
