Just wanted to try my luck at it and had sum bagseed that was alright so i Did with sum MC African Violet soil and 4 26w 6500k lights had to put Wallyworld heater in 16$ here,! Has a therm on it gets a little chilly here but i put in Xbox fan to bring sum air in and an exhaust is air cleaner with filter hope to get them that big to need the exhaust !! Any thing i should get or do please let me know ill keep posting pics thanks !!! I can't seem to keep the humidity up any info please tell thanks again Barnsy73

Looks like you are off to a good start. As for the lights, I would try and get them more at an angle (horizontally). The cfl's put out most of there light from the side not the end. As for the humidity, try a cup of water in front of your fan, it will act as a humidifier.

Seedlings need humidity. You can put humidity domes over them, get a cool air humidifier for $30, put wet cloths around, mist them, or all of the above. As they grow you'll need more lights.

I've tried everything guess i will have to buy a humidifier its sitting at 31% and i just can't seem to get it to raise anymore suggestions ?

MOOOORRREEE CFL'S!!!!!!! I try and have 100 watts of CFL light on each of my 3 plants.

I don't currently have any of the 6500k just 2700k will they work ? i have the y adapters and another row of lights to build I guess i have to get to it thanks

yeah it would be a good idea to add them. the mixed spectrum is actually very good for veg + flower.

Well I went to HD and purchased sum lights and the big one's didn't work so back to the store today I did fix my other one's so now I have 8 all together 4 26w 6500k and 4 27w 5500k bright light I have them so the side of the bulb is exposed to the plant is that alright ? and I was wondering about fertilizer what people recommend for veg I see allot of different stuff but I'm unsure of what to get ?? I am going to order fox farm is it to early to start them on this they sprouted out of the soil on 12/2 or 12/3 so there 6 or 7 days old

Hello everyone just a question i hooked my timer up today and i wanted to c if it worked correctly and my temp dropped down to 55 c is that to low will it hurt my plants ? I've putt so much time into them i just don't want to mess it up !! Also was wondering if I should start them on there schedule 18/6 or is it to early ? I have to transplant them into there last home should I do that 1st so I don't shock them to bad ? I've read so much and there's so many different views just don't know . I'm going to order sum fert 2morrow so I can start them on that also should I wait to repot to start everything at once or is that to much at one time ?? Please any info ? And thanks again !!!!

those cups are somewhat clear when you see roots touching the bottom or the sides re-pot at that point. the fertilizer you will want to wait until week three unless you see some light yellowing before that, and do all of this at different times so you don't stress them

Thank you I just looked and I can see the roots on the sides of the cup so I guess its time I'm going to use gallon pots I'm limited on space I hope to keep them short and fat if I end up with a couple ladies in there !!!

gallon pots will be fine im running a cfl grow atm and I didn't switch to 18/6 until day fourteen, I started with nutrients on day ten at 1/8 strength because the soil I used was not so great

If your worried about height try fimming them you can find a few good posts here on that subject it will make your plants much bushier. And if its cold keep your lights on 24/7 when you want to go 12/12 for flowering keep the lights on at night when its colder and off during the day..Good luck..

Well I transplanted 2 of them the roots were amazing must be doing sumthin right !! But here's sum pics and my watch dog !! LOL Its day 9 whats the recomended time frame for nutes am i running behind or is it lookin good I put a bigger fan in and the towel keeps humidity up around 40 %, I need to get new filter for cool mist humidifier I picked up but they are lookin real good I have them on the 18/6 from 2 to 8 pm is it to early for this ?? Any info please let me have it good or bad ??? Thanks

Just want to say first off that I've never read this much on the computer ever until I found This Site !!!

Just took sum plant pics tell me what you think !!! 2 weeks old out of soil ? Oh and I found this window shade that is vinyl and its so bright its what the plant is on and there cheap and keep water from carpet or whatever gloss white very bright !!!
