18/6 to 12/12 back to 18/6

I have a question... I have had my plant, vegging for about 5 weeks. I wanted to flip it 12/12 last night so I did. when I checked on my plant this morning I checked the PH, and it was way off I should have checked it before switching but I didn't, since i am going to have to flush (ph well above 7.0) and get the ph under control i would rather do that while its vegging and not flowering since the plant is more sensitive during flowering. so my question is... Is it going to affect my plant much by going back to 18/6 after being in 12/12 for only 1 night?

No don't switch back to veg . Your plants still have about 2/3 of vegging during 12/12 cycle they called it the flowering stretch but either way it's vegatative growth. So even though you switch to 12/12 yesterday flowering hasn't started yet .it starts when bud sites start to form. So basically you still in vegatative growth stage so gohead and water you plants with plain pH water at 5.5 and that will adjust the runoff to drop to 5.5 but you stop it at 6.3 before it hits 5.5 simple simple

Switching the light back and forth is a problem.

Also after only flipping the light 24hrs ago you aren't really in flower yet.

No matter what phase im in I fix the problem in that phase.

And If you give more details on this ph problem maybe someone will be able to give you a second opinion.

If you switch back to 18/6, your plant will shift back into vegetative state and you will undo all of your flowering progress and stress the plant. You’ll also monster crop it, which is pretty cool, but the growth tips are uncontrollable.

Yea switching can really be a problem using feminized seeds with seedbanks selling all these hermaphroditic strains . And are you using feminized or regular seeds and what soil

ok thanks, everything else seems fine the plant looks healthy so i am not too sure what caused the ph to go up like that i water every 2 or 3 days with distilled water, i havent used any nutes, just using FFOF soil. i will keep it on 12/12 flush and hope for the best

Whoaaa you might wat to double check pH meter Because ffof usually automatically keep pH levels around 6.8 because it has pH bluffer so unless maybe your pH meter has been wrong for a long time or something

Oh, it was only for a night? You’ll be totally fine.

yeah it has me puzzled, but i have had the meter for a while, so maybe i need a new one. i just want my plant to grow lol shes pretty and i will be real upset if i lose her to something like the ph being wrong

But it's fine to adjust ph in week 1 of flower because the flush into flower is so growers can adjust soil and have fresh start so you good. Also I always tell new growers about the chances of having hermaphrodites when growing with someeeeeeee feminized seeds. Plz watch you plants daily for male sacks they grow in area you wouldn't expect so you have to inspect the entire plant top the bottom . Everyday especially the first 3/4weeks if you don't check everyday it could lead to a seeded harvest . Even the best growers can't control this issue and it's very impact to inspect before and after lights come on and you should be good .enjoy your grow

To be completely honest I flush using regular tap water without adjusting pH because it ignoring to adjusting ph every gallon when you have only 20 plants so I use fox farm and flush with regular tap water and after I get ppm down I do a good pH water in the end

i am going to flush and leave it on 12/12 and see what I get. i appreciate your help and advice, do you have any recommendations on any not so hard to grow, but good quality strains?

There is zero reason to " flush " FFOF ... You will not change it , it is highly amended right out of the bag. It is PREBUFFERED ( for PH ) at 6.3 ( oyster shell ) for control.

It will carry a plant by itself thru 5 weeks easily . If you are satisfied with VEG SIZE then you can flip it. Remember plant will grow double during transition / stretch.

Forget trying to LEACH out some PH ... Just PH your water and feed mixes PRIOR to adding. Forget checking runoff and all that ... It just complicates things ....
If the PH of your " liquids " going into medium is in acceptable RANGE the plant can have what it needs.

CALMAG is one of those " standby " ingredients that everyone should have , in case they need it. But excessive flushing / wet overwatered medium / and screwing with light schedules will definitely bite you in the ass.

if you are ready to flower , then just flip it. Begin " bloom " nutes around week 2 of flower , plant will pull nitro from mix for stretch during first two weeks of flower. Once stretch stops all she will need is more P and K. I usually run FFOF by itself as LONG as it will go before I see any deficiencies. Then I either make a tea out of a scoop or two of the soil and drench . Or top dress some more for a quick water in boost.

Keep things simple and it will pay off.

Yeah, you don’t pH organics or flush unless pH is waaaaay (inhospitably) fluctuating.

Well I prefer regular seeds although they contain males if you go online they have a way to identify males from females and it actually works I order 20 regular seeds and used there sexing method and I planted 12of the 20 seeds and 10 was female so it def works. But anyway I like gorilla glue , grandaddy purple (the best), purple Haze , durban poison and my silver widow x sour diesel. The granddaddy purple and purple Haze are my favorites but the only problems you would have using ff is nutrient burn. But I'll never grow feminized seeds ever because most them not stable and regular seeds are just better . But I even recommend regular auto-flowering seeds. Just my preference. What strains are you growing now. I have 2flowering tents and 2 veg tents one for seedlings/clones. Strains in growing is silver widow, sour D x old time moonshine ,white dragon and lemon kush

What prompted you to check the ph?
Can we see any pics?

Also exactly how did you test the ph,
I just wanted to make sure everything was good after switching to 12/12 I have one of those 3 way meters in the plant at all times, it's usually just on moisture but when I switched it over to ph it was reading at 8 but the plant wasn't/isn't showing any signs of anything being wrong so I am thinking maybe my meter was just off as someone had suggested... so I replaced it today. I was probably just freaking out over nothing and being paranoid lol. Yes I will post a picture tomorrow I can't get one right now cuz she is sleeping

I am attempting lol to grow sensi skunk. This is only my 2nd time trying, my first attempt didn't go so well, I did everything imaginable wrong I went with the feminized seeds because I clearly don't know what the heck I am doing and didn't want the hassle of trying to figure out male and female on top of all my other mistakes. Maybe if I can ever figure out this science of growing bud... I will take a bigger leap and try to figure out the male from females lol I had no idea what a challenge this was going to be I just wanted to smoke a little bit for free
