175 watt MH vs. 70 watt HPS for flowering?

I have been using the metal halide since it was a seedling. but i have a 70 watt hps left over from an old project. i know the HPS is in a better color spectum for flowering but should i stick with the MH due to the power?

if you can, use both. a 70w hps will be the right spectrum but you'll have a hard time with lumens. use both if possible and you'll do really well. Or use the hps + CFL's.

hey im only a week or so away from harvest now (check my pics). i ended up sticking with the MH and adding three 23 watt cfls to help change the color a bit. they made a world of difference keeping some of the lower leaves green, but i really cant stand all these clamp lights all over now. I definately want to change something before my next grow.

I have been seeing lots of MH-HPS conversion bulbs out there that will work with a ballast for the other. I found a 150 watt HPS that will plug into my ballast. anyone ever used one of these? im wondering how well it works compared to a bulb of the same wattage with the correct ballast.

Look mate, sorry to be blunt... but you want to go get a much bigger light than that. If you're using one light all the way through go for at least a 600w. More light equals more bud.

this is so dumb, im not turning this into a flame war.
can we stay on topic please. i really dont care how much you think my setup sucks. the only thing i didnt already have on hand before the grow was fans and a bulb, i didnt have to pay for anything.

all i want to know is if conversion bulbs are any good or if its better to use two seperate bulbs and ballasts.

ive never seen a conversion bulb for anything less then a 250, even so i think there crap, a waste of money. idk what skunkkush's deal is but i know with your 150w hps and your 175mh you will come out with plenty of bud for personal.

The guy's a week away from flower what's the point in talking about THIS grow? I merely mentioned that a 600w light would serve a better purpose for the NEXT grow. Then the guy says that he already knows and that he SAID he was going to change something for the next grow anyway.

I'm confused.
