i have recently received some teen clones from a fellow breeder. They were about 16" tall when entering my Lair. I transplanted them into 3 gallon pots and cocoa mix and all is looking beautiful. they are now nearly 30" tall just finishing up week 1 of flower.
The Setup-
i have a 600w and 1000w hps in a 3.5x 5.5 x 8 closet pumping those babies up with some serious wattage. The Bulbs are encased in 2 6" cool tubes connected to a 440 cfm vortex fan extracting heat out of the lamps. I also have a portable 22000 btu ac in the closet and co2 enrichment. The heat exhaust from the ac is also being extracted through the cool tubes with a booster fan helping keep a consistent airflow ridding excess heat. There is a wall to wall tray holding 10 beautiful plants FIM'D and exploding with tops. Under the elevated table is a 37 gallon rubbermade res with a 560 gph pump connected to top feed drip lines and a cpl CFL's working some life into my 36 clones.
The nutrients flowing through these babies is H&G aqua flakes and all the addetives, man this shit is kicking ass with incredibly stable PH.
The temp in the room with lights off is between 67-72 and with the lights running anywhere from 75-83 with a humidity between 35 and 45% at all times.
so far so good and thriving better than i expected. after 1 Fimming some of these 30" monsters are flaunting up to 8 tops now with side branches reaching almost up to the top of the canopy. whatever branches dont make it to direct light by the middle of the 2nd week of flower will be trimmed back to focus production on these several tops, there are probably between 45-55 tops amongst the 10 plants in the closet.
These pics are from last week but ill post up some more possibly tonight. The ppm right now is running at about 1100 and the res temp is between 72 and 76 degrees at all times. these girls were transplanted from small grow bags into a cocoa and expanded clay pellet mixture of about 70-30 cocoa to pellets with about an inch of chips lining the bottom of the buckets.
They have only been in these buckets for 2 weeks since transplant and there are all ready roots exploading out of the holes in the bottom of the buckets. if all goes well i am hoping to hit 2.5 to 3 lbs after dry yielding about 3/4 gram per watt.
This is my first run with cocoa and so far i am loving it, not 1 bad thing to say. I am watering for 10 minutes every 2 hours and they are enjoying every ounce of it they can get.
The only issue thus far is semi high temps and a few winged gnats at the base of the plants which the breeder warned me about that he had just been infected. trying to take care of that asap and then looking foreward to a large healthy harvest.
let me know what you guys think
