16 day old slow growth?

Please help, they're 16 day old from bagseed, in FF Ocean Forrest soil which I know has a high bark content, but they should have an established root system by now. Temp. is 78 to 80 degrees. Lighting is 6 23w 6500k's set to 20 - 4. There's a 70 cfm bathroom fan extracting and a 5" passive intake. I haven't started them on nutrients yet, and I'm planning on starting FF Big Bloom in their next watering. They look very small to me. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

ur plants looks good to me man and at 16 days they look normal to me. id go ahed and transplant them to like a 1gal pot tho.

The brown liquid in the 2 liter is probably a home-made Co2 generator, I think...Anyway, I like your setup and hope it keeps moving. You should think about transplanting to larger pots soon.

Thanks GeeTee, I'm going to be transplanting soon.

Hey smkone, that's a co2 producer. Just started it tonight.

Thanks swelchjohn, I'm moving them out this week.

I don't know what's going on. Can someone please shed some light on this? They're not root bound I have checked the crispy-ist one.
What am I doing wrong???

maybe some root solution and how much air access do they have if they dont have enough air put some h2o2 in the watter i think like a tsp for the strong
kind and half a tsp for the weak kind

Thanks esc, you think they are suffocating?
I will try to aerate the soil a bit.
They were just watered after a 3 day drought, is it safe re-water with the h2o2 now?

Oh and at what ratio? 1tsp per gallon?

+REP esc, you hit the nail on the head. They were suffocating. I just aerated the soil a bit and added extra air flow and they bounced back.

I thought the FF Ocean Forrest was ready to go from the bag. It's definitely not the soil became so compacted it was stunting the growth, it needs more perlite.

The youngsters will be transplanted soon and I am uncertain about the ratio of perlite to soil. Does anyone have an idea of perlite% to FF Ocean Forrest soil%?

i used 10-12% first time, 4 gal pot, took about 5 days to dry out
usueing 18-20% now, 3 days to dry out , and better groth,
hope that helps ya

Thanks mississippi I love my cat as long as she's not eating my herb! lol - BTW the avatar is not my cat, just a cute pic I like.

The posts that I've read said to use FF Ocean Forest and Light Warrior.
Ocean Forest already has peat moss in it and Light Warrior has peat and perlite.
I was thinking of just using Ocean Forrest with an additional 20% of perlite.
Does anyone have experience with this? Do you think I would have good results with this mix?

Thanks.

havent used ocean forrest,
just a good potting mix , 18-20% perlite 5% peat moss, dollermite lime,(would use worm castings if i could find some) i put 50 liters potting mix in wheelbarra, add 10L perlite,3L peatmoss,1 hand full lime
mix well, wet a bit, leave 1 day mix agen.
is ocean forrest just a potting mix, or a grow meadian?
befor i put soil mix in pots , i put about 25mm 1inch of charcole and perlite in bottom of pot, to help with drainage, stops potting mix blocking drain holes .
I love my cat to, one big fat ginger, use to have gray one like in pic but he took on a car and lost
