HI!

We have a group of forum buddies who all started their grows/journals around the same time as each other and we are all cropping around the same time.

We want to start a little centralized thread here where we can all chat with each other and not have to screw up our journals!

Also, we are going to have a friendly little competition with our yields!

Let the games begin fellas!

yeah mine are at 1 week and 2 days flowering in a scrog under my 150w hps

Pictures should be a must, here is a flowering timeline photo, first pic is day 1 of 12/12, then 1 week and then 2 weeks. Let the games begin!

This is my first day of 12/12.

So far one confirmed female, other plant not yet gender confirmed

Well, well now! I like this idea. I gotta get the pics of those pstils! Yeah, I looked at it today and here I find a few more pistils on other parts of the plant. Sadly I think I may be one of the lowest yielders seeing as how I am the only one going full CFL. Maybe in fairness we will have to set it as the best yielding plant lol that is the only way that I could even possibly stand a chance lol!

So are there going to be any drastic changes to your grows in the near future? After I move, I will be making an actual box kind of like the rst of you have with real venting and and more space and possibly mylar for the walls.... It won't be for another couple of months, but it shall be!

Thanks for making this thread!

Oh yeah.. Good bringin that up Hackel.. I found more pistils on #3 as well. The node I took the pic of as well as the 2 nodes above it. I didnt take pics tho.. didnt think it was a huge enough deal to bug you guys with pics of every tiny pistil it has! haha

I dont know.. Sometimes I wonder if the 150w HPS is bright enough. It is not as bright as my daylight CFLs.. But sometimes I think its just cause the light is so orange, whereas the daylights are bluer? And maybe I am mistaking "blue" for BRIGHT?

Iunno.. maybe Orange just doesnt seem as bright to me..

So as far as updates, I MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT add some more lights. lol. My temps are only at 76˚ so I think I could be able to add 1 or 2 cfls... Or maybe another 150w HPS?? Would that even be beneficial? two 150w side by side?

Mmmmmm little bud porn.

HEY FRIENDS! I have a question!

So, you know that 150w light most of us use? Well, I did notice when I was about to go to bed that the ballast was pretty hot. (I am going to refer to the ballast for it as the UFO because thats what it looks like and that's what I refer to it as in my house)...

So, the UFO wasnt scorching or anything.. But if I put my hand on it and I tried to leave it there.. after about 5-10 seconds I seriously thought i was going to get a burn.

So... Im thinking I should do something to cool it down.

You know how there are 3 screws around the UFO that holds the top of it to the bottom of it? Im wondering if I should replace those screws with maybe some long bolts?? or something to give a little distance.. maybe .5"-1" gap to allow the ballast to air out?

I dont think allowing it to get super hot is good for the life of the ballast itself.

Maybe instead of leaving it open... I should get some tin and cut slats in it every .25" all around it, and fill the .5"-1" gap with like.. a little wall with the slats to allow it to air out?

Im not really sure what the best solution is...

Are your guys' super hot? What do you think about the heat?

I know last night people suggested putting it on a concrete block or whatever so it wouldnt burn my carpet.. and Im not really worried about the carpet as much as I am the ballast breaking due to extreme temps.

any thoughts?

Im referring to this thing:

Haha I told you it gets hot and you should watch your carpet, I set mine on a piece of metal raised above the floor. I don't think its a problem since it came that way from the factory, if you are worried I would just take the top cover off and leave the bottom to chill.
