Hey, i'm wondering if 15" from the top of my plant to my MH bulb is too close, the temps are about 76 with a oscilating fan blowing basically 24/7 and the light is on 22/2 usually sometimes 20/4 and during dark periods i throw 2 42 watt 2700k bulbs some days..
.

Anywhos, heres some pics.

I have a 400wMH also, i have a home made cool tube cab for it so it keeps it much cooler that it use to.
But your plants are looking good there not stretching so I think you light is fine, If you are wanting to get them the absolute most light possible, you could lower them for small peroids during the day then raise them back up, such as sunrise, highnoon, sunset, ya know.
or
you could slowly lower the light untill you see the first signs of light burn then always keep them a little higher that that.
But why fix it if it's broke, everything looks good. If 76 is your high your def. fine.

I have a 1000 Watt MH light 12" away and its fine, just keep adiquit air circulation, it should be fine.

First you dont need 22/2 cycle. An 18/6 will use less power and will provide the same result. 250 lumans seedling, 2500-5000 veg, and 25,000 flowering.
So right now your plants are still small, they do not need that much light and the added stress of heat. Back off to 20" (for now) and your plants will love you for it.

Eh well I would but i dont have a timer really that works... so i leave it on and usually turn it off for a couple hours at about the same time, daily...

Timer will be soon though, because there so cheap too :)

dude invest in a timer

it still amazes me how many people wont spend 7 bucks and buy a timer... switching between 22/2 and 24/0 or what ever will fuk ur plants up

.hermie that is....

not to be mean but you arnt a dependable time keeper

Haha I have a timer, and the light schedule wont fuck up my plants as long as i keep them atleast 18 hours a day of veg... think of like if the sun was blocking the plants by a tree or something, big deal?

now during flowering... that's a different issue,

But to be honest my timer is a 2 prong, and my ballast is a 3 prong...
