12 hr HPS ---> 12 hr Fluorescent

I am new to rollitup, but I am a member of another online community. I have done hours and hours of research and I'm currently in the middle of my first grow. Allow me to explain the situation:

Over a month ago I decided to germinate a seed, just for the hell of it. When it sprouted I saw the potential for a little fun and I decided to invest some money.

My closet, lined with white plastic, now houses a beautiful Sativa (a little over a month old). Through trial and error, I have managed to grow a pretty nice looking plant. I'll be damned if it's male. It is now approximately 12" long (I say long because it has been LSTd) and has recently started producing healthy secondary growth.

Now comes the fun.

A few days ago I received a package (the free holiday seeds from Attitude). I then spent several hours deciding which seed should be the first. I decided on OG18 X Skunk; that was two days ago. Today I have a seed ready to be planted, but I worry about lighting.

Currently my oldest is basking under a 150W HPS; however, it wont be long before she (hopefully a she) is ready to go 12/12. Would it be okay to grow my newly germinated plant under fluorescent half of the time and under HPS the other half? Or should I scrap the oldest plant and focus on my new hybrid which is nearly guaranteed to be ready to smoke at the same time as my older sativa?

I'd veg the new one under the Fluoro and flower the other one right away. This way the new one will be ready to flower under the HPS when you're ready to harvest the other one.

Unless you find the first is a male when you flower, in that case you'd of course pull it and put your new one under the HPS.

I put veg plants in with my flowering plants all the time and take them out when it's time for the others to sleep. I just stick the veg plants in the hallway with the overhead light on and that's enough to keep them from flowering even though they only get 12hours of growing light.
