12 Day Seedling Problems (Limping, Bending)

High everyone, new grower here. I have 2 12 day old Northern Lights seedlings. One is limping and looks very unhealthy, the other is bending but looks healthy. Is the first one still saveable? How can I make the 2nd stop bending?

During the first 9 days of I kept them 3 inches under the T5 by RIU user recommendations and I think it may have ended up frying them

Since then I've raised the lights to roughly 11-12 inch distance and they haven't gotten much better. Is it too late?

They're being grown in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, watered every 3-4 Days with purified water, and grown under 4 T5HO lights (veg spectrum). I'm still waiting to receive my PH meter in the mail so I can't check the PH yet.

i think everything looks fine to me...stretched a bit though.

do not worry about the bending... the reason for it is because when you planted the seed after germination you may not have properly placed the seed in the grow medium. but it will be fine.

simple solution:

add more soil and bury the stem a little more to prevent it from toppling over from too much top weight.


your other NL seems like it incurred a bit of stress thats why the leaves look all deformed. just keep feeding them plain water that is pH balanced and they will be fine.
i have a Grand Daddy Purp that is a little deformed although she's thriving in her environment.

at about 2 weeks old i would start feeding them 1/4 strength grow nutrients

No burn marks at all. Hmmmm would you recommend switching from of at this stage to rockwool? Or would the stress be too much for the babies?

Im rockin oceans forest and its fine,I wish you no growing kids would stop blameing the soil on your inexperience.Ill bet you dont ph balance your nutes!!OF has plenty of dolomite lime to keep your ph in check,last week it was roots organic,this week its oceans forest!!!!!!Hey bro your plants look fine for 12 days in,it takes a couple weeks for your seedlings to take off....peace

Do not switch to rockwool,this guy is someone you should not listen to.Its a hell of lot harder to grow in rockwool than soil.Ive been growing inside over 10 years and outside allmost 30 years and Im useing oceans forest due to the ease of growing!!

You'll continue to keep having the stretch and bend over thing happen with the T5 that far away from the plants. If its burning the plants at 3 inches move it back an inch at a time. You want that thing as close to the girls as you can get it without burning them.
