12/12 Light cycles- Do they have to be regular?

Hi, I have a few questions about light cycles. What if the 12/12 cycle isn't regular. Say the plants are deprived of sunlight at 4pm one day and 5.30 the next, is this going to effect flowering?
After the plants have flowered is it absolutely necessary to keep them on this cycle or can they be exposed to a full day of sunlight again?
Cheers in advance.

Technically, 12/12 implies regularity, 12 on and 12 off constantly. If the cycle varies a bit, it wont be the end of the world but you may not get the greatest results. At the end of the day a little bit of irregularity in their light schedule wont kill them.

Irregular light cycles promote stress and the related side effects.
After the plant flowers & is harvested it is dead unless you try to re-veg.
