it will be plenty, you just need to get the right hood, a cool tube is not that great imo even with the batwing its not consentrated , you want something with a good foot print that will concentrate the light. I run a raptor and that has a great footprint and I also have a cool tube for my veg room, and I can see a big difference between the two.

From the research and testing 1-1000w light will efficiently cover a 4x4 space, anything bigger you could get away with 1 if you have a light mover anything bigger then a 4x4 area you are not getting the full benefits of that light, I would have to agree with doing 2-600w lights for that size area you are trying to cover. Remember you want to evenly cover an area with the light.

What size area are you covering with your raptor? The same size as the OP or smaller? I know the raptor is a big hood but still 1000w covers 4x4 space max.

Cool tubes are very inefficent at spreading light. Here is a link to a reflector test http://www.greners.com/reflector-test.html For your room Id get 2 blockbusters and 2 600w with a 8 inch fan.

Im using 2 raptors in a 9x9 room and I also have 2 cool tubes in another 9x9. All sealed for optimal cooling. There is a big diffrence in the light footprint on the raptors, it it more consentrated, meaning a stronger footprint. Stronger footprint = more bud production. And you can definitely use the raptors on a rectangular room since the dimensions are 40 length by 30 width .

Im running 2 in a 9x9 so 4.5x4.5 each. For your 6x3 you should be all set with one for sure.

If you have a 1000w light setup already, put it on a light mover. If not, that space is PERFECT for 2-600w's. Besides, it's easier to air cool stationary lights vs. light on mover.
A stationary 1000w would not put out enough light spread to cover the 6 foot length of space, regardless of hood. 5' maximum. I mean, you could, but it would be way LESS than standard.

This is a math problem
9' x 9' = 81 sq ft 4.5' x 4.5' x2 = 40.5 sq ft You are not getting optimum coverage with 2 1000w lights as the average watt/sq st is 24.7.My indoor flower room is 10' x 10' and I run 4 1000w which averages 40 watts/sq ft. This is a good ratio but if the space was rectangular I would use one more 1000w.
To the OP, your space is 18 sq ft and you have 1000w that is an average of 55.5 watts/sq ft. which is actually about the maximum your indoor plants can utilize. As long as you have a good reflective surface (flat white paint works well) and adequate ventilation (heat will be an issue with this small space) as well as vigorous air movement, you will do well.

I'm using a 1000watt w/raptor in a tent that's 4x8x7.5. It runs about 8-10° cooler than the cool tube I had. I wouldnt recommend the raptor in a tent though. Wayyy too heavy.
I went thru the top of the tent and mounted it to the ceiling which allows me about 6.5` from glass to floor giving a decent footprint. My last grow with the air cooled raptor gave me a decent yield with 3 plants. But using 2 600watt hoods I would have had better results IMO because of more wattage.

8x8 with 4 1000w will be great. I own a light mover, used it for couple years with a cool tube, its in storage now. Light mover for me was only good if the light only moved a few inches each way, other wise its like a sunny day/cloudy day over and over for the plants if the mover moves the light to far each way. If you stuck to origninal plan of 6ft length the single 1k no matter what hood will not give good even coverage and will create "darker" areas in room that wide.
