My 1000w HPS bulb makes a pretty high pitched sound for maybe 30 seconds when first turned on, then becomes inaudible/quiet. My other 1000W tent doesn't do it and this bulb didn't used to.
Is everything fine? I'm just worried about an electrical/fire risk.
It's been doing this for weeks, however, and the plants still seem to be doing fine (and I'm broke right now and don't want to change anything if I don't have too).
The bulb isn't more than six months old. Ballast is Lumatek.
Any input is appreciated.
Otherwise, I'm happy to report I've been doing this for about a year now. My technique is finally where I want it to be after a few fuck ups. It's true when they say you will inevitably make mistakes the first few cycles. Spider mites, nute burn, light burn etc. I remember thinking nothing would go wrong my first grow, that I wouldn't let it happen. How funny is that. It's a year later and only now is my first truly perfect crop about to finish. So excited. It's been a long and fun ride!
