1000w Attic Crawl Space grow?

has anyone ever grown a decent amount of bud in an attic crawl space? I am thinking you would just run a track right down the center beam. The hight from the floor (wood beams) to the /\ center beam doesn't look too tall. Maybe 4 ft.. that would leave 3 feet to somehow get a row of plants growing hydro/aero ponically. Can this be done?

I am thinking there would have to be a lot of plants that would just grow faster, maybe placed into bloom at week 3 instead of the more common 4.

Can someone suggest a good compact aero/hydro set up considering the height restrictions? Luckily it's pretty cool and drafty up there, so controlling the temps this time of year should be cake.

1000 is completely the wrong light for that situation. You need smaller hid's (multiple 150's would be good) as there just isn't enough height there.
Anything over 400 would be a bad idea and I wouldn't even use 400's unless you had to.

yup. and to access the crawl space often to monitor your grow is gonna blow.

Good call! A single line of 150's stationary would be better for heat disipation down the road in the event this turns into a spring/early summer party. Thank you, that does make a hell of a lot more sense.

What about the system itself? I am looking in the 2008 hydrofarm catalog and trying to find the lowest (to the ground) setup. The strains being grown are Violator Kush and White Widow and would like to have it set up where I don't have to do anything other than check the rez once a week. Is this realistic? I only have eb and flow experience and after checking out the system on page 193, the Ebb and Gro System looks like EXACTLY what I need.

It seems like the second setup would be more low to the ground and may be able to be placed in parallel a little more efficiently.
