hi all im a noob to growing. just got a simple question to ask.can i run a 250whps bulb through a 1000 w ballast or will it burn the bulb out? any help would be great,thanks

You'll be fine. If you trying to use 1000w bulb in a 250w ballast then you'd have problems

you'll still be using 1000 watts per hour though

Yes, it will burn the bulb out at the very least. A visit from the FD at the worst.

Bulb wattage and ballast wattage must match.
