1000 Watt MH lamp in flowering ? pics

So i currently have

- 2 400 watt HPS / MH lamps i have both bulbs and the balasts
- 1 T5 flouresent with 6 horticultural bulbs ( selling )
- 6 freshly topped ice plants ( seen below toped once at 5 nodes the first 2 pictures and again today ( 4 days after the other pictures were taken ) )

I want

-1000 watt light ( I would prefer HPS but MH is 90 $ cheaper so i am finding out if i can run the HPS bulb with the MH balast )



i am selling my t5 to a friend who is just starting out along with nutes and dirt ect ect. With the money i was going to buy a 1000 watt lamp to really make this harvest a memorable one. I can get a fairly cheap 1000 watt Mh lamp or i can get a 1000 watt HPS for around 90 $ more then the MH version.

so my question is with the set up being

a Co2 bucket in the center with my 6 plants placed around it in my 4 x 4 x 6 grow tent . The 1000 watt with hood would be in the center with the 2 400 watt HPS bulbs hang bare on the sides.


with this in mind would it really matter if my 1000 watt was HPS or MH or could i get away with just getting the MH lamp with the other 2 HPS bulbs hanging on the sides

also does anyone know if i can use a 1000 watt HPS bulb in a 1000 watt MH set up ?

You should stick with the 2-400w. They are much better than 1-1000w.

no on the lite set up using a HPS bulb in a MH ballast wont work

who said anything about not using the 2 400 watters to. Im going for the 1000 watt + the 2 400 watts

alright good to know then what would you say about spending 150 on a 1000 watt MH or spending 260 on a 1000 watt HPS or in part spending 250 $ on 2 more 400 watt HPS

it will work with a digital ballast.

I have a ballast that allows me to switch between MH and HPS. I got i off ebay, check it out!

You can get a hps conversion bulb that will fit in your 1000w mh at htg supply

no i run my mh bulb in my hps ballast not the other way around. many will say no i have been doing this now for 6 grows same ballast and bulb.
