1000 watt in a shed

I wanted to know peoples opinion of growing with a 1000 watt in a shed from now through mid july. The shed is about 10x8 feet.

Well, you have two scenarios

-You go light on in the daylight and deal with sumer heat and humidity and visability

-You go light on in the night and deal with the shed's light tightness and scheduling maintenance so you wont attract attention.

What's the neighbor situation like? Right next door or what?

I scrapped that idea ... I have a 20X10 shed that I was going to divide into 2 5X5 rooms (grow and bloom) and have another 3X10 room for drying.

Running electricity because it's currently unpowered (about $2,000)
Insulation and construction (about $600)
Air Conditioner/dehumidifier (about $500)
and then finally starting on lights, ventilation, and smell proofing it just got too expensive and too much risk.

I don't live in a 'free' state and they are still using FLIR. My shed has a grand total of 2" between the ceiling and roof with no attic space to vent hot air, so I was really worried about any thermal image it may put off. During the day it wouldn't be a huge issue, but I still worry because I'm really paranoid when sober.

Then there's the security issue. Legally I can make it 'unsearchable' without a warrant, but that requires professional electrical installation, county inspection, and dwelling certification from the county. So to make it 'part' of my house it would have to be 100% professionally done, inspected by a county official to qualify as a dwelling and then it would be taxed as another 200 sq feet on my house. So to make it search resistant I have to spend serious money, more than I listed above, prove it's 'livable' by showing it to county officials, and then finally pay taxes on it at a rate of $4 a sq foot per year ($800.)

After doing all that and spending almost $3000 - $4000 in making it heat and smell proof, if I make one mistake that 'clues' off a neighbor who then decides to report me (not enough for a warrant) then a flyover with FLIR, (almost enough for a warrant) and then my whole life coming under scrutiny suddenly it didn't become worth it.

I've literally been thinking on how to make it work securly and safely for 6 months and haven't found a 100% sure fire way to make it secure.

Now I'm opting for a closet grow which I'm naming Satans grow. It will have 6 in clone, 6 in veg, and 6 in flower making it a 666 grow. I have a 200 watt CFL reflector and bulb for seedlings/clone, a 2' 8 light T5-HO florescent fixture for veg, and a 1000W HPS for flower. This is all going in a 8'X3'X9' closet that will be lined with Panda Film and ventalated with a 440CFM fan through a 2'X6" carbon filter so I'll be venting 200% of the air out every minute (mythbusters, if it's doing it's worth over doing.)

If I do it right I should be able to grow enough for myself and friends. I'm taking an approach to venting I haven't seen here, but have been assured it will work. The path of the air will go from the room to the carbon filter, through the air cooled light, and into the attic, where it's running 95 - 120 F degrees durring the day anyway so that should avoid any FLIR issues. Since I won't be carrying anything to and from the backyard it also lowers possible neighbor suspicion.

THe downside is I was going to do a 12-12-12 grow in the shed but the closet space just won't accomodate that, but a 6-6-6 grow should be plenty as long as I grow the plants right.

i only have 4 neighbors that could see the shed but not directly they would have to be looking for it if they were to see it. its not in there plain site. i am running the lights during the day 8am to 8pm cuz im flowering now. today is the first day with the light on and there was 0 light seepage i thought the damn thing never came on . lol
