ok riu guys, ineed some advice once again.... im thinking of buying a grow tent f0r flowering, I have a 1ooo watt hps. now my problem is that i wanna go with the 76" x 76" but im not sure that a 1000 watt is going to cover it, i know it would be fine for a 4' x4' but any advice or ideas would be appreciated:-?

1000 watt will cover 6 x 6 nicely. but I/me personally would run 2 400watt or 2 600 watts for better "overall coverage"

yea i figured it should be good, but i just wanted to make sure. i believe i read that a 1000 watt can cover a 6x6 area but i also believe i read if the area is too large fro the light the buds would be less compact..... but thanks unicron

yea the 1000 will do if you have it already but from my experience the 2 400 or 2 600s get get much closer to he plant and keep them from stretching so much.

A single 1000w isn't going to cover the entire tent effectively. You're going to need two lights if you want complete, canopy-penetrating coverage. I'd go for 2 600's at least.

Get a light mover.

If I was growing in one of those tents, I would get a vertizontal (4'wide space ship looking) reflector. This reflector gives you the best of both worlds.

And would run an eye Hortilux 1000 hps bulb.

Thats it...Would be ideal!

Thats what I run in a bedroom here.. Incredible yields. :hump:

Wouldn't a light mover be more effective, allowing the light to be inches away from the canopy over the entire garden?

Well, with a 4 foot reflector raised a bit you wouldnt need a light mover.

But you have a good point too..
However, How would you mount a light mover in a tent. Guess it could be done.

A tent is kinda flimsy, and I would worry about something bad happening especially with a light mover going back and forth. I dunno.. hmmm..

I have a light mover on my 1000 but its mounted to the ceiling.. Very sturdy.

I have a DIY tent. I'm sure I could find a way to safely mount a light mover and I'm not even that handy. :)

thanks that really helped, so what if i tried the 1000 and a couple of 125 watt cfls in there hanging a little closer to the foliage? or should i just go with a 4x4 tent? the reason i ask is because im weary of the electric bill
