1000 watt HPS + 400 watt HPS, questions?

So I started with a 400 watt HPS and had 6 plants I started from seeds on my own. I recently got a hold of twelve clones. I went down to my local gardening store and purchased another 1000 watt HPS system. I got both running right now, while the girls are in there veg stage. I also invested into a air conditioner for the room. The room was running about 90 degrees, I know I want it no higher then 85, but more around 77. I am using a room to grow. I actually live in an apartment, ahhhh. Anyways, do you think the A/C will keep the room at a decent temperature? Do you think that running both HPS (1000 w+ 400 w) is good for the amount of plants? Do you think it will be possible to cover up the smell. I have the whole room to work with. Any advice would be great. This is my first grow on my own. I have been around my friends and helped them out, but I am looking for advice. I know MH are better for veg, but I got HPS... will the plants be okay? Even if my lights are quite a bit higher then the plants do you think they will still streth since I have so much light/lumens?
THANKS!

After trying to run both lights all day and dealing with the circut breaker because I had to much stuff in the room I have decieded to cut the 400 Watt HPS because the power problem. Do you think 1000 watt will do the job for these ladies? Pictures above! I know they arent to great, sorry.

I already rearranged them. Should be enough light. It is a killer that the circuit breaker because I wanted to set up the 400 watt with a MH (instead of an HPS) for a veg section, then take the 1000 watt and set that up for a flowering stage so I would always be bringing in some consistant yields. Anyone know a way around having the circut breaker do that to me?

install a larger circuit or add one to your breaker panel and run another set of wires to the room and hook up another outlet. i only recommend doing this if you feel confident enough around electricity to be fucking with the main breaker panel.

yeah definatly not. lol, thanks though. I might just stick with the 1000 for now. I think it should do fine for now. Once I set up a veg and flower stage, here soon, that will be an issue.

If you add a window AC(or portable, for that matter), make sure you get one that's at least 7,000BTU's. I run a 600W light and I cool the room with a 5K BTU unit. The thing just barely does the job. On 90+ degree days my box gets to be about 90. If temps outside are in the 80's, it's all gravy. I'll be investing in a bigger AC next summer, that's for sure. Thankfully, the days are now getting shorter.
