Welcome back RR,
Ive changed fully to organics now. Re using my old promix from last run when i used salts. I have some 300 gals that i only filled 2/3. Also some 100 gals by smart pot also but they are squat pots 50" wide and 12 inches deep. I like em. Remixing my 4x8 bed from last run but no plants in there yet. Also started a worm bin today actually. Thanks for all the help in 2017... my last harvest confirmed my assumptions about organic gardening. Thank you my friend.

Strong soil, strong plants! At least I hope it's that and not just dumb luck lol. I have done nothing for pest control for the last round or this current one outside of dipping the clones in Neem oil before bringing them in my room.

Sooo currently in my personal room I got 16 plants in 7 gallon smart pots.

About 112 gallons soil. It seems to be working out for the most part.

This is all under three 1000w hid lights.

Now today, I fortuned into four 1000 gallon smart pots.

Whoops I meant 100. Could you imagine 1000?! Jesus titty fucking Christ our Lord and baby savior.

So that's 400 gallons of soil.

I wanna add a light, but do the same number of plants.

So I'd basically be doing four plants per light. all in this giant plot of soil. It's almost like an indoor raised bed.

I know some dudes that have grown giant trees in 100 gallon pots outside. But anybody else ever use one of these giant smart pots indoors like a bed to do multiple plants before?

I'll definitely be documenting the grow I do in them.

Hiw did this ever turn out
I had a few good rounds of fun with it, the last round the soil went a little alkaline (probably from all the crab meal) so I had to add some sulfur to bring it down to a good range. But then life happened man! One of the bands I play with started doing more (check out Jenn's Apartment on spotify and all streaming platforms), my wife and I separated and began divorce proceedings, and most importantly I got job cultivating for a commercial grow company. Last thing I wanted to do was come home and do more work. Soooo all this soil from my basement had to go up the stairs and I expanded the size of my veggie garden in my yard. Kind of a pain lol.

Honestly it was harder work than it had to be considering I didn't leave it for long enough. But hey, I had a killer crop of super chili peppers this year and made some banging homemade sriracha!

I just got 100 gall. Pot 13 cubic ft of soil from @BuildASoil #buildasoil, #notill bundle
I wanna order blu mat because it seems easier, any suggestions?
I was always hand watering at home, I've never used blumats but people seem to like them! They were never something I wanted to invest in because of their price point. Honestly if it's a grow big enough to need irrigation but still not commercial than I would look into a irrigation system that you can get from your local big box garden store.

Newbie here
so it shouldn't be a problem with hand watering my 100 gallon living soil?
Physically no. As a newbie yes. Watering cannabis is challenging with no experience in those big ass pots. You can't lift them and feel how lite they are. You should invest in a soil moisture meter so you are not overwatering.

Do you still enjoy growing now that you're on a commercial level? You've already said you don't want to come home and grow but does work give you satisfaction or do you miss the basement?
Still love growing! That's why you'll still see me on the forums. Honestly don't miss the basement a bit. I worked a few other small but large scale type grows along with mine; I was doing all the growing, trimming, and selling. Tons of work, tons of driving around, super stressful. Now I get to just focus on growing. I chop the plants for harvest and they get sent off to the processors and I don't see it again until it's sitting on the dispensary shelf. I don't even have to sweep up leaves at the end of the day, there's a "janitor crew" that comes through and cleans up all the rooms at the end of the work day.

the weight of the soil and hauling it around is what discourages me from those large smart pots. I love the idea of reusing the soil and amending though, I've always just tossed it in the veggie garden out back as it hides any suspicious materials.
