Hi All! New to your great forum but not to growing and had just made a lengthy post in response to a subject I'm intimately familiar with. Unfortunately, after considerable writing I learned that it was too long and could not be posted. Does anyone know of a way to get around this as I really would like to share some salient points?

Thanks!

It's broken up with hopefully enough breaks. I get long winded every now and then. Thanks again.

try to keep things short and sweet with enough info
people are highly unlikey to read giant walls of text on here

you are the first person that i can remember to ever complain about this..should give you a good figure as to how much people are willing to read at one time without a break!

goodluck welcome to riu

Thats actually really sad that peoples attention spans cant handle more than one liners or a few sentences , not alot of info gets exchanged in one liners .

I usually skim past the one liners & read the longer posts 1st but im old & set in my ways .

i read all , just saying we are a marijuana forum alot of us are sick patients, the other are people and the rest are recreational users who are super high

According to legend, friends bet Ernest Hemingway that he could not write a short story in six words. Supposedly, Hemingway returned the next day with his six-word masterpiece, “For sale: Baby shoes. Never used.”

a novella (small novel) is 35,000 words. it would have to be one epic source of info to keep someone reading a 10,000 character post.

panhead: I'm with you... Getting old and set in my ways too. Still can't shake that crazy feeling that people should communicate in 144 characters or more. I must be losing it.

sunni: Of course you're right about keeping it short for the mean demographic. I'm super sick and super high and still can't shut up. Soon... Soon.

BarnBuster: That's a real hoot! Heard that many years ago and am thankful to you for reminding me of it. Good one.

Yup but try n learn something from that short story , it leaves more questions than it answered.

How long have they been for sale ?

What size ?

What color ?

What brand ?

How old ?

How much ?

Where can i see them ?

How do i contact to buy them ?

That example isnt a short story its a statement ,try selling some shit on ebay without a very detailed description & see how long it sits there without a bid , write a detailed description & you illicit a response by people bidding .

Very nice panhead. I enjoyed your sequel better than the original 6-word story. Seems to me that reducing our greatest and most free asset to it's bare minimum will reap what it sows. Bare minimum. While simplicity is something I admire, it has no home in thought relation.

I like your thinking.

I wasnt implying anything negative twords sick people for sure , my main meaning was twords the parts of the site centered on MJ grow problems .

We too often see responses like " add more nutes " or ph 2 hi " , for a guy with grow problems responses like that may as well be written in ancient hieroglyphics .

I know you weren't meaning it that way

@panhead hmmmm, not really a for sale ad and although it is ambiguous, it is generally thought to convey the supreme tragedy in the life of a young couple whose child died or was stillborn. More meaning to it then just an ad for shoes. Perhaps a bad example on my part on conveying brevity in writing.

I wasn't aware of the tragic meaning, rather the topical. How sad.
yeah it's pretty obscure. Came from another era and way of thinking. It's all anecdotal and no real proof he penned it. Maybe just another urban legend. Again, not the best example of a few words being able to tell a much longer story, but one I always remembered.
