1 Week Old Seedlings

sup rollitup,

this is my first grow i've been growing 4 purple power plants for about a week now.
I'm just looking for some feedback from experienced growers and some tips / advice for the future.

they're currently on my windowsill (not great I know), but they seem to be doing OK and I hope to be able to move them outside once they get bigger.

so are they doing alright? also, any advice on when I should be transplanting them to larger pots would be great :peace:

**EDIT: I'm also wondering when to start giving them nutrients / fertiliser, I'm a complete noob with this so any suggestions on when to start and what to give them would be appreciated

not too sure when u would wanna transplant em but for sure don't wanna wait too long or else then can get root bound and will hinder growth ur still fine in ur pics of course. But as far as any nutes go 1st depends on what kinda soil, what else did u add any worm castings, vermiculite, perlite, that kinda stuff. If the soil if fairly rich with good nutes/fertilizers, u should be ok with just watering it for the 1st 4-6wks. After that u can start using nutes when u water, something that is a good source of nitrogen for veg stage. U can look into the Fox farms products grow big is one for veg, big bloom, and tiger bloom. Sometimes they can get pricy, u can always look around for some less expensive stuff just look for the ratios on the package like 15(N)-30(P)-15(K) or w/e. For flowering they start needing more P&K.

I just used normal compost for the soil, there isn't anything special in it that I know of,

So I want a fertiliser that is rich in nitrogen for the veg stage? do I have to get one that says 15(N)-30(P)-15(K) or would something similar be fine?

let them go for another week. then, after watering, pop the soil ball out. if theirs mad roots, its time to transplant, if they still seem pretty spars (or not visible at all), let them go longer. High N fertilizer means something like 10-5-5, or similar.

are they definitely getting enough light at the moment?
I was a bit worried seeing as they're on the windowsill, but they're looking alright?

Will this affect what fertiliser I should use?
What effect does the perlite have?

it aids in water retention and aeration. compost aerates poorly when wet. it is inert, and doesn't alter fert choice

nah perlite is meant to help absorb and drain water as well as aerate the soil. Oh hey and trip out on this u could always use human hair in ur fert mix, its 17% nitrogen, just a joke, I've never tried it but the 17% nitrogen part is true lolz. Also if ur gonna eventually plant em outside if its in a backyard or sumptin try to check for the area that receives the most hours of direct sunlight and plant em there.

Anyone know what kind of yield I can expect from these if I grow them right?
Will it be less if I keep them on the windowsill instead of moving them outside?

Your week old seedlings make my week old seedlings feel bad about themselves.

Mine are tiny and just barely started to sprout their second set of leaves..

def wanna get more light. there gonna stretch alot in the window sill. your best bet would to start Low Stress Training(lst) soon so light gets inbetween the nodes and will make more growth.

Aw man, it's probably just genetics or something, I don't know though, I'm a complete noob

And any advice on LST? I'd be scared of doing it wrong and killing them or something.. but yeah I'll look in to it, thanks man

Just tie branches down to open up more space for light. check out my grow i use it often
