That last thread was getting to be a bit much, so let's have a clean slate people!

All you atheists, come here and post your funny/interesting/important/informational atheism stuff!

Pictures, philosophy, books, stories, haircuts, tuna salad. Even just discuss atheism! In all of it's awesomeness.

Give me the works baby!

Important:
Please don't poop on this thread like SOME people, whom I refuse to mention did in the last one.

This is a happy person only thread. This isn't just a thread for atheists, that's merely the topic of the thread.

This is ONLY a thread for those with constructive input and conversational skills!

Don't let me down guys.

I don't believe in god, it is a stretch and I am not foolish enough to believe in it
I am going to live my one and only life for myself, not for some man in the sky or some shit
The bible is a nice read though, just not all factual

George Carlin, I loved that man. Always made me laugh lol.

It's a good book for figurative moral reference via fables.

Religion in a lot of ways is just Philosophy with Superstition and ritual. Since I don't support either of the two, I am left with it merely being a way of life. In which case I fully support any religion presented that way! Other than that though, well..'tough cookies?' lol.

Popular misconception by the Christains(especially the one's on this forum), Atheism is not some spiritual practice or religion, but it's just the absence of religion all together.

Interesting, Religulous came off more so as a movie that stirred the idea of not knowing, and questioning things rather than spurring atheism.
It seemed more of an agnosticismesque look with a comedy twist to it.

Good movie though, regardless.

Come to me, children of carnal knowledge! Bestow upon me your mighty hammers of justice and retribution! I wan't to see for once a constructive Q and A with a Christan who has some sense of mind together about themselves. Enough to able to keep a debate from an argument. Or did you all die long ago when your philosophies became cults and ritualistic superstition with a financial trigger finger?

How I long for the same thing...

Honestly, who is the smartest Christian amongst the group? Doesn't even have to be Christian, any believer. When are they going to step up to the plate and explain to me why they believe the things they do in a rational manner?

I don't think they exist anymore, all that's left of the corpses of the wise, the philosophers of the what they now call 'soul' are prostrating fools and spiritual prostitutes whoring out there quick fix scriptures, sticking to tradition and dogma, rather than love and enlightenment through acceptance. Fear mongering the children of children of the prosperous and true. I guess I was expecting a bit much. I mean, I know they're out there, I've talked to them, I'm friends with one or two. However, even they are solitary beings in the rough of filth, they're the only working members in a body of decay. I can only imagine they're reluctance to speak out in what is very well for all practical senses, there religious bodies self procreating ever growing sea of bile.

The are many mysteries to existence, but no evidence to prove any current religious claim nor any compelling argument to believe any supernatural doctrine. You want a mystery to worship? Figure this out and you'll be closer to any real "god" than a lifetime of self indulgence and arrogance will get you.

NASA Scientists Create Amino Acids in Deep-Space-Like Environment

A team of scientists at the NASA Astrochemistry Laboratory today announced that they had created amino acids in conditions mimicking deep space. Amino acids are the basic components of proteins, from which all life is made. According to researcher Max Bernstein, "We found that amino acids can be made in the dense interstellar clouds where planetary systems and stars are made. Our experiments suggest that amino acids should be everywhere, wherever there are stars and planets."

The three amino acids produced in the Astrochemistry Lab are similar to those found previously in certain meteorites. Meteorites are pieces of asteroids or comets. The chemical similarities may indicate that amino acids were made in deep space, before the solar system formed, then eventually fell to Earth in meteorites. "This finding suggests that Earth may have been seeded with amino acids from space in its earliest days," said team member Jason Dworkin, adding, "[T]his increases the odds that life also evolved in places other than Earth."

In their deep-space simulator, the Astrochemistry Lab team has previously produced cell-membrane-like structures and other organic compounds basic to life. Next, they plan to investigate why left- and right-handed amino acids exist in space, but only the left-handed forms are used by life on Earth. Other scientists on the team include Lou Allamandola, George Cooper and Scott Sandford.

I love how you all say your not foolish enough to believe in god yet youll admit that your unsure if he exists.

Not all factual? Please inform me on how you calculated this?

My brother the only reason your on earth is because of that man in the sky, have some respect.

Its all about eliminating possiblities.

Ex. scientist say that they cannot fully prove the big bang theory, so why would you believe it?

The evidence supports it.

Redshift

That single piece of evidence proves all the matter in the universe was a singularity at one point in "time".

What more do you need, honestly?
