OK so did some searches and the one I found is cannatonic cbds are 8-12% Tucker is 5-8%. Also I believe if you let grow longer it may raise chest and lower thc. I hope that helps. Also Harlequin is 5-9% cbds and 7% thc this just what I have found on the net.

Yeah it is 5% not 50% BUT it is 1:1 thc /CBD ratio. I have seen some CBD strains with high CBD but much higher THC more like a 4:1 thc/cbd ratio.

To be clear, something that is 1:1 THC/CBD will be roughly 50% CBD as a percentage of cannabinoids.

I think this is how the Harlequin strain got its name. Harlequin being the Italian clown with a half-white half-black costume. (And that would be another strain to look for).

Depending on what exactly you're trying to accomplish, the THC/CBD ratio is probably actually MORE important than the simple overall CBD percentages. Also, bud CBD percentage is one thing to look at. . .but so are all the other factors to consider in picking a strain, such as yield, flowering time, ease of growing, etc. ESPECIALLY if you're going to make extracts (which seems like a good idea here) a high yielding lower CBD percentage strain may actually be a better performer than a low-yielding high CBD percentage strain.

Anyway, you can buy CBD-crew strains from Mr. Nice's auction site that have high CBD content. Some of these types of strains may put out plants with mostly THC, mostly CBD, and close to a 50-50 combination. So depending on what you get, you may need to do some selection.

The Sannie strains mentioned above are certainly good, but they aren't considered high CBD strains in the sense that they don't have more CBD in them than typical indicas/kushes. I don't think that's what the original poster is after.

I think for the original poster, if you live in a medical state, a really good option (and perhaps the best one) is just find someone local whom you trust, and source a clone of a high-CBD strain. Cannatonic is one that a lot of people like.

If you're willing to take a little trip, or know someone in Colorado, this may be a good option:

most autoflowers have higher cbd and some of the more indica dominant would have a semi narcotic effect to possibly make up for or possibly take the place of some of those nasty meds he's on

by the way i am in no way a doctor was just tossin that out there

I know of a strain that is 14-20% CDB and less than 1% THC. Also many autoflowering strains have a high CBD like 12%THC and 4% CBD

Have you considered naming these strains so that anyone reading this thread can look for them?

As already mentioned earlier in this thread, well known high CBD strains include:

Harlequin, Cannatonic, Sour Tsunami, and various ones from CBD crew (EG CBD Skunk, CBD Widow, etc).

There is one called Juanita la Lagrimosa that is about 1.2:1 CBD:THC from Sensible Se-eds.
Supposedly the clone only Raskal OG has a similar cannabinoid profile, and there are a few well know drug strains that can also have appreciable levels of CBD (like LA confidential).
There is one out there called "Ruby Slippers" that's got a high CBD level.

Avideckel is one that's virtually all CBD with negligible THC, though this was developed in a research setting in Israel, and I don't know how available it is, even there.

One key point is that with many if not most of these strains, the plants will put out various phenos, and typically only 1 in 4 of them will be high CBD/low THC.

If you're growing a clone of a tested/known plant then you're fine.

But if you're growing FROM SEED, this is potentially a problem, because unless you have your own plants tested, it may be difficult to impossible to identify the ones that are rich in CBD. Typically these sorts of plants will also put out individual phenos that are 2:1 CBD/THC, and mostly THC. Testing is expensive, but it can be done on plants still in veg stage, so you don't necessarily have to waste your time flowering out plants that won't give you desirable levels of CBD.

Again, from a practical perspective, if you're in a medical state, the simplest/best thing to do is probably just to find a clone of a plant known to have whatever CBD profile you're interested in. That cuts out a lot of hassle in gambling with variable CBD genetics.

By the way CBd crew is a group of very respectable breeders who collabed to form the CBd crew especially for Mmj patients needing high CBd strains... Also cannatonic is one of the first well known high CBd strains think I would try that good luck
