    Blumats. Who's using them?

The drippers always get clogged for me, and i'm running water only. Have to unscrew the plugs and clean them out every couple weeks or they stop up completely.

    Vertical and horizontal lighting ?

Just keep in mind that you have to carefully balance the environment and adding a ton of light will make that harder to do. I had an explosion of growth on the sides and lower that is usually insignificant, but it dropped RH and raised temperature quite a bit causing some leaf tacos. I had HLG...

    Blumats. Who's using them?

I was thinking the same with the straw terminating at the center of the pot. I'm sure that there will be a lot of roots growing near the water source, but hopefully no blockage. It would be very easy to move to straw later if there is any issues. I give water only with this organic amended...

    Blumats. Who's using them?

@JustBlazin I setup the blumats and tomato cages and I'm going to try that idea of the buried tubes.

    Cognitive Dissonance

I see a lot of folks here doing that (including OP) without realizing that it's completely asinine. Plenty of bad info out there, and majority of it is recommended to & from beginners.

How Many Plants in one Earth box ?

I bought this 27 gallon container from Home Depot for $13. Drilled holes in bottom and used lid as a saucer. It was busting out of my 4x4 by the end of flower...

    Blumats. Who's using them?

I love blumats. When the pot size gets very large it works well to go with additional carrots and tune them together.

Newbies (Me) and overwatering---even if your careful

I have been using Fox Farm Ocean Forest for years as my base soil with no issues. It really depends on what else you are adding. What other nutrients are you giving? Liquid chemical fertilizer?

Newbies (Me) and overwatering---even if your careful

Congrats on getting something that is smokeable for the first grow. Hopefully overwatering was the biggest issue, but from those pics the plant was very stressed. If you are using plain FFOF, you have to add at least 25% perlite for better drainage. It looks like you had some issues with...

Newbies (Me) and overwatering---even if your careful

I think a soil moisture meter would work better than trying to weigh it. The plant itself is growing mass, after defoliating the weight will be less?

    Lets talk about re amending

If you were to wait 6-8 months in between using the soil, would you re-amend before or after storing it? Keep it moist the whole time?

Newbies (Me) and overwatering---even if your careful

Watering frequency largely depends on light / air flow / humidity for me, more than pot size. Fabric pots help a lot, but I've always had more luck with giving more frequent (even everyday) rather than letting it dry out. I use blumats as well with great success.
