Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

Quick question - if using a MeanWell HLG-600H-54B Driver with 10 Luminus CXM22 3000k 90 CRI COBs, with the driver running full blast (Either the potentiometer all the way open or not connected at all) how many watts from the wall would out be pulling? I'm coming up with 576.8 watts, and how...

Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

Wow, GLR! I'm with CobKits - your info is flawed at best, and to come into someone else's thread and saying that is rude, uncalled for, and just plain ignorant. Go into your own thread, discuss your way and ideas, and roll out of this one. *.*.* Cedru *.*.*

Little offthe current topic, but I see the RIU coupon code has expired on CobKits.com. Any replacement available that I'm not aware of yet? While I'm at it, here's a little New Year Video thrown together using all COBs, drivers, and heatsinks purchased from CobKits.com. COBs are 8xCLU048-1212...

Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

@CobKits what are your recommendations for a 5' x 5' x 6.5' FLOWER ONLY tent? I already have most of my veg tent complete, placed the next to last order today - so now it's time to prepare for flowering in 2 months. Quantum boards or COBs? How many of each and which driver(s)? Thanks in...

    Little help needed...

Well that makes a whole hell of a lot of sense. Guess it's in parallel the go, until the new driver comes in. According to the specs, it pushes out 8090 ma, so I'm guessing I can run 7-8 of these 36v cobs at ~1050ma safely in parallel with this current driver safely, correct? Thank you...

    2700k, 3000k, 3500k, 6500k... wtf?

That, my friend, is extremely informative. Thank you so much sir for the detailed analysis. I'd still like to see a side by side comparison between a 6500k/2700k veg/fower grow to a straight 3000k or 3500k start/ finish grow. Since I plan on getting two sets of lights, one for veg, one for...

    2700k, 3000k, 3500k, 6500k... wtf?

So, hypothetically speaking, if one were to set up a perpetual grow, one area for seedlings/veg, another for flowering, using all COBs, it WOULD be beneficial to go with a higher spectrum set of lights for the veg area, and a lower spectrum of lights for the flowing area. You'll be buying the...

    2700k, 3000k, 3500k, 6500k... wtf?

A little help would be appreciated in clearing something up for me. "Back in the day " we used a higher spectrum (mh @ 6500k) for veg stage, then went into a lower spectrum (hps @ 2700k) for flowing. Now with these COBs, I see a lot of recommending of a straight 3500k. Wouldn't it be more...

    First LED Attempt

So, if I'm correct, both of the drivers I mentioned in the original both have an on board dimmer that I'd be able to lower the amps out to 1.4 if I see any burnage on the plants. This 9 x 36w x 1.4a = 453w / 9 = 50 w/sq.ft. if someone could help me with the ppfd for this, I'd appreciate it...

    First LED Attempt

I'm only coming up with about 680 watts, not 1000. 9 36v COBs x 2.1ma = 680.4 3' x 3' = 9 sq.ft 680/9 = ~75w/sq.ft. Am I miscalculating or doing something wrong? Also, forgot to mention in the original post, all plants will be the recipient of Low Stress Training as well. Thank you...

    First LED Attempt

Ok guys - any introduction is in order first. Been a grower but with CFL/Floro and Metal Halide (Veg) and strict HPS (Flower) Long time lurker and learner here, but now I'm wanting to start trying a perpetual grow with LEDs, specifically a DIY COB setup. So, I run 9 plants at a time, in a 3' x...
