    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Hi guys, I made my own light using 5x https://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/bridgelux/BXEB-L0280Z-35E1000-C-A3/976-1493-ND/6236279 I thought that temps would not be an issue as I misread and thought that without any changes the strips would run at 700ma. My plan was to run the strips at...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Thanks for this! I will admit that it is pretty tricky to get my head around however.. I don't want to pick a fuse that is too big as I have read that the wire may well melt before the fuse blows... I think it is my understanding of my driver that is lacking, if i'm using a HLG-60H-24a (2.5A)...

Ok sweet, I already have some 2 pole wago's so that's good. Thanks man! WIll save me some time now that I dontr have to buy an new wires and can use the awg18... That was all that was stopping me testing so will test tonight when I finish work! Pretty excited! Do you guys think a 3a wall plug...

What size do you think the driver output cables are? My awg 18 next to them for size, red is the awg 18. They don;t look too different in size, I thought the driver output wires were much thicker but they actually aren't so would it really be a problem to use wagos and awg18 to extend them?

So can I just use some extra AWG 18 wire to extend the drivers output wires with wagos or will i need bigger wire?

YEah the material i had for the frame already had holes in so nuts/bolts were easiest for me

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Thanks man. Literally just need to get this sorted and wait for 2 usb to 4 pin fan cables for my fan controller and I am set.. Should be starting within the next few days assuming I finish this light off properly! What size fuse should I use in my 3 pin wall plug that I attach to the driver? I...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Yeah it was definitely my ignorance around how they actually worked that made me break them not the clips themselves. Ok so next problem I have is that the output wire from the driver is not long enough to reach to positive of first strip and negative of last... can I use my awg18 to connect...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

OK so turns out I just didn't understand how the clips worked, even with broken clips on 2 of them I could still get them wired up just by prying open the jaws inside the clip with a small screwdriver whilst U push the wire in and then it closed itself just fine. Now I know what you meant about...

Ahh im using stranded... Just stripping the casing and then twisting.. will that not be good enough? I snapped one of the clips like an idiot.... taped it back on but if I need to push it down with a screw driver I may be in trouble unless I can fix it somehow? You can see it in this picture...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Hmm... Could it be that the 18AWG wire is too big because I just cant get it to stay in the clip?

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Sweet, found it. Do the little clips on the strips pull up like wagos or do I just push the wire in deep? Tried to pull the little clip up but doesnt seem like it wans to go and don want to break them..

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Ok i take your word for it! Thanks again man. Ok so here are the strips on the frame. I know the frame is ghetto as hell and probably looks really bad but I had to cut it with the saw in the second picture so bear that in mind haha... Question - Each strip as two sets of connectors, do I use...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Thanks man, so would I have to dim the current from 2.5a to 1.75a? Would that be tricky to get it right as it is just done with a screw driver?

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Hi guys, I am just about to start wiring my strips once I have secured the mto my frame. Just made the frame now. I have 3 different wall plugs for the driver but unsure if I need a 13a, 5a or 3a wall plug? I will post some pics up shortly before I connect strips to the driver to check if my...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Ahh ok yeah I see, they just wont be as efficient as I thought as I was using the 350ma as 50% when it is actually 100%

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Ahh fuck i got my calculations all wrong then... what an idiot! Thanks for putting me right.. I will just have to run them at 100% then surely to get the 350 and enough light?

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

Ahh sweet thanks for the advice brother. Its around 1sq ft, a PC case. Maybe just under 1 sq ft.. Yeah those strips have max of 700ma so il be running them at 50% the whole time. I have the driver that allows dimming with a screw driver but not exactly sure how to be certain they are at 50%?

Thanks for the reply man! Im using 5 of these - https://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/bridgelux/BXEB-L0280Z-35E1000-C-A3/976-1493-ND/6236279 Going to run them at 350ma for a total of around 6000 lumens/sq ft Never thought about using thermal tape... the stuff I bought for the frame has...
