Here's my experience with outdoor growing

I'm in a slightly better mood now (and exhale). The bud rot seems to stay very local on the plant and everything above and below the affected areas seemed fine. I imagine that if I let it go it would have taken down the entire plant. I followed the guidelines of growweedeasy and took the advice...

Here's my experience with outdoor growing

I've been growing in my basement for a few years now and am pretty good at it with good yields and no real problems. I don't know how the guys in humboldt county get by without problems but I've seen nothing but pest problems as soon as my girls were old enough to have problems. I have 3 plants...

    mosquito netting

Thanks, I've got different problems now. Growing outside sucks... too many potential problems. It's been a constant battle with powdery mildew and then a couple days ago I started to notice bud rot. I'm going to take the grapefruit diesel girl early (the one in the middle with the nicely tight...

    Weird smell

What do they smell like? Once mine started flowering, they kind of smell like fruit punch.

    mosquito netting

Is it too late to cover up my girls with bug netting? I've got 3 girls at different stages of flowering. No real issues, I actively monitor and remove any suspect foliage but don't want to be surprised by some flower hungery larva.

QQ: Outdoors in Fabric Pots... what size?

I'm going with 10 gallon fabric pots. I need to keep this somewhat discrete and keep cost of coco to a minimum. Usually I grow in my basement but spending money on electricity is stupid given that the sun is free. Eventually, I'm planning on relocating to the sticks with no immediate neighbors...

QQ: Outdoors in Fabric Pots... what size?

Tha hehe, that might be a bit more than what I had in mind. That's a couple lifetimes of smoke for me.

QQ: Outdoors in Fabric Pots... what size?

I'm thinking maybe I should have done some more research before I got these seeds going. There is no way I can get away with monsters like that.

QQ: Outdoors in Fabric Pots... what size?

Holy crap, 30? I may be in over my head.

QQ: Outdoors in Fabric Pots... what size?

I've tried googling and cannot come up with solid answer on what size fabric pots I should buy. My plan is 2 plants (Ghost Train and Green Crack) outdoors. Seeds are germinated, just going to give them a couple more weeks (by early/mid June) to transplant them. Sticking with hydroponics but...

    VPD vs. PPM

I agree. My formula might need some tweaking but I think you get my point in that the transpiration is a conveyor belt for nutes. The higher the humidity the slower the conveyor belt goes but the rate of nute consumption needs to be the same regardless of RH. The only lever that we have is to...

    VPD vs. PPM

That can't be true. Water is the only thing transpiring from the plant leaving the nutrients in the plant. At 90% RH, transpiration and VDP is much less. With that, nutrient ppm needs to be higher because the plant is not absorbing as much nutrients. At 25% RH, transpiration is much higher so...

    VPD vs. PPM

Let me see if I understand. As you're plants grow, the RH in your greenhouse goes up? That would make sense and supports my assertion. What is the RH in your greenhouse as the plants grow?

    VPD vs. PPM

I grow in my basement in the late fall and winter and the humidity is typically low 20-30% RH. Prior to my youtube knowledge of VPD, one strain on my first grow didn't go well because I maintained relatively high nutrient ppm (900 IIRC). I clipped a leaf off and brought it to my hydro store...

Ushio Bulb... Does this look new?

Now that I think about it, I bet that reddish color was something that leaked out of the inner bulb. That would explain why it doesn't get very bright.

Ushio Bulb... Does this look new?

Should have bought it local, now I got to deal with returns. At least I have my old bulb to keep things going. I thought Ushio made quality products.

Ushio Bulb... Does this look new?

Something here seems to be a problem; After 20 minutes not up to full brightness. Using Xtrasun digital ballast. Any ideas or is it a bum bulb? Edit: that red tinge burned off. I just tried my new Ushio HPS, that bulb burns fine.

Ushio Bulb... Does this look new?

Just received this bulb a few minutes ago. Does this look new? I don't remember what my current bulb looked like new but I wasn't expecting the reddish tinge. TIA

    HPS bulbs recommendations

I've got 3 grows on my 600W Xtrasun HPS and MH bulbs and it might be time to change them out. Is about 3-4 grows the lifespan of bulbs? Bought them at the local grow store for $60 each. Sadly my 2 local stores in the Boston area closed; I guess it's hard to compete with Amazon or maybe the...

Is 600 watts hps enough for a 4x4 tent

Maybe I'm wrong, I thought all hanging lights were pendants. It's an air cooled HID lighting fixture.
